We didn't win a game for 3 months, lost to you twice, are classified as a club in crisis and you're still only 10 points in front with Liverpool and Newcastle to play.

Next season we will be back to a choice of a back four of Akanji, Stones, Dias, Gvardiol, Ake, Kushanov and maybe Bah with Rodri and Nico in front. Thats without any others. If Arse supporters think our defence is permanently damaged, you have a real shock coming.

Re finishing above City next season and City's defence and all that - surprised nobody has stated the most glaringly obvious factor. Rodri. His return alone will be transformative.

City will be in a rebuild and it may take some time but at the same time I've been disappointed with how one dimensional Arsenal have been this season and the players we'll need to sign to remedy that will effectively necessitate a rebuild of sorts on our end. It's clear we need a striker and I'm sorry but zero chance we'll get Isak so if it's a Sesko or some other unproven striker he'll need time to adapt (or could end up being a Rasmus Hoilund flop).

Anyway I'm rambling now but basically Arsenal need to rebuild just as much as City do. The talk that we are just one striker away from winning a title is wrong - strikers need chances created for them and that's where we currently struggle.

We've won four leagues in a row and are one of the richest clubs in the world with possibly the best manager in history in our dugout. The last time you finished above us we had Demichelis and Mangala in defence. The time before that you had Jack Wilshere as your young player of the year.

You guys will have Rodri back and will look to add players to take over from the likes of De Bruyne and Gundogan.

For us, it's all about it we can improve the attack. The defensive side to our game is there, the attacking side needs a major improvement though, think the club finally realise this.

No it isn't. In fact it's incredibly simple. What I think will happen is what's happened every single year for the last 10. If I get on a bus at 9am every morning for 10 years and then one day it turns up at 9.05am, I'm not going to say "well its impossible to predict what time it will be here tomorrow". I'm going to presume that incident was a freak event and actually the last decade of consistency is the truth.

I agree. The man has issues. He should be showing a mental resilience, a bit of gritted determination to fight to the end. But he doesn't. He seems unable to shoulder the responsibility when things don't go as he planned so he does what Bingo used to do - blame everyone and everything instead of admitting his mistakes.
The fact he appears to encourage his players to cheat and time-waste tells you from the off that he doesn't have a long-term plan for the club, like he's taking each game as it comes. No manager can rely on lenient refereeing week after week after week (ok, the vile Pisscan being the exception). Eventually he is going to have to face up to the fact that thus far his managerial capabilities have not provided the results the Gooner fans want.

There's a bit of irony in what you've just posted, no? Of course, you can back up your arrogance, I get that.

I don't tend to do sweeping generalisations of fan bases. I don't think every fan thinks the same, acts the same, and behaves the same. For every fan that's arrogant, thinks the club and Arteta is the mutts nuts, I can go on social media or Arsenal forums and find fans that thinks the team is shite and hate Arteta.

I certainly don't come on here all arrogant. I'm a realist, and often downplay our chances, as I have done the past 10 years I've been on here.

My view of Arsenal currently is simple. I think as a team we are good/very good at the defensive side of our game, but not so good at the attacking side of our game. I think the club has thrown most of its resources so far on defence and defensive midfield. I'm hoping that if the club concentrate more on buying attacking players now and that balances the team / squad up.

But I also know that not a given. Perhaps we won't get the players needed, perhaps Arteta just can't coach a good attack. Even if we do perhaps City and Liverpool sign better than us or just remain better than us,.I don't know. But you certainly won't get me coming in here saying we are going to win this or are going to win that, as you rightly point out, bar an FA Cup, Arteta has won nothing, and this team has won nothing as of yet.
