I don't like the 'tactical timeouts'. Raya did one, I'm sure others did as well. It's Mourinho crap that I don't want to see.

There were some genuine cramp issues though - Calafiori and Timber both went off with it and we had Kivior and Lewis-Skelly at the end in defence.

The red was fair enough but it ruined the game as a spectacle and forced Arteta into playing shithouse-ball. Who knows what the score would have been had Trossard stayed on - maybe the same outcome but would have been a better game. But City should be worried that they were largely rendered impotent by that defensive line and also vulnerabilities at set plays were shown. Pep will need to fix that.

Walker had a mixed game - was at fault for both Arsenal goals but also nullified the out ball to Martinelli with his pace. I'd still have played Rico Lewis to be honest but there's a reason Pep is a manager and I'm not.

PS forgot to add Rodri going off made a massive difference. I genuinely hope the lad isn't badly injured and wish him a smooth recovery.
Alongside the other eight arsehole players who were on the pitch.

Dippers fanbase are the worst of the worst but I don't recall them ever cheering so vociferously for an injured player going off. It's the lowest of the very low, we all know it yet the entire away section reacted as loudly as when they scored.

They should be deeply ashamed and whilst i don't wish serious injury on players, because i'm not a total scumbag, but if karma ends up biting them in the arse, it wouldn't be unjust.
You’ve obviously forgotten Yaya going off injured at Klanfield in 2014.

I thought they were pretty unimpressive. We tore them apart for the first 20 minutes until Oliver got involved. They improved slightly after that but not much and only looked a threat from set pieces - and only scored then by fouling Ederson.
Defended well enough second half, but not difficult when you‘ve got all 10 men camped within 25 yards of your own goal and aren‘t even thinking of attacking. Lost count of the number of times they just aimlessly kicked a ball forward for us to recycle.
Good point in the scheme of things for them - but nothing particularly praiseworthy about the performance.

Arsenal fans are grizzling about refereeing inconsistencies, but the two sending offs are down to the fact that the management are clearly coaching them to waste time and disrupt play wherever possible. Can hardly complain when the referee flashes the red card to players who know they’re on a booking.
Those tactics clearly are coached,, and I wonder what psychological impact it has on the team when as a manager you essentially tell them you are not good enough to win unless you do this?

They did absolutely fucking nothing for 96 minutes.

They are not good enough to win the league and they haven't been before. Liverpool play attacking football but fall over for various reasons like last season, but remain our main challengers in my humble opinion.

I heard one of the commentators at one point say "It's good to see a team come to the Etihad and actually try to play."

Fuck off.
