Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Arsenal haven't dropped any silly points this season. They've been near perfect on the results front. Credit to them, but they've had 50 points in half a season and still lost the league, so fingers crossed on how they handle the pressure.

Never a foul for me shame really because Villa looked dangerous ...............still time to sit down and relax and let all the fanbase get giddy and blow apart within the next few months.

Said ages ago Arsenal needed a 10 point gap going into the new year and they aint got that .........they will implode they always do

City have more followers on social media than Arsenal +>30m only beaten by the rags in England
I thought this has to be bollocks and checked it and you are absolutely spot on. I'm very surprised about that but it seems City has something like 50m more followers than Arsenal on social media.

They are the worst set of fans weve ever been up against and i include the rags and dippers in that
Steady on. Recency bias is a thing. I know full well that Gooners can be attention seeking, emotionally unstable morons. Dippers fans though have actually murdered opposing fans. They've trashed your team coach. They've thrown sharp objects that injured children who support your team. They openly boo our national anthem, thereby disrespecting the memories of the brave fallen who defended our country. And they seem to think they are deserving of special status because they aren't English they are 'Scousers'.

Arsenal fans could literally set fire to the Etihad and yet our crimes against football wouldn't come close to what those ferals on Merseyside have done over the years.

The element in their play that might just carry them over the line is their scuffling and fouling at corners. If they are struggling in a game,it doesn't require great play or great character to bundle in a goal and goals change games, as it did last night.

To be fair that season we lost out to the greatest ever PL side. I'm not sure we can infer parallels with this season.

No foul... Ok. I hope Haaland do the same to opponent GKs.

This is where I think the rules are going to change in upcoming seasons. I don't think he fouled Martinez in the same way I don't think Dias fouled Allison. Of course only one of those stood. I don't think this type of goal is a good look for football, where a defender can raise their arms to prevent a keeper catching the ball.

Goalkeepers used to get too much protection in football, I don't think they get enough now.

Because of the rules you can basically stick a ball on the keepers head and bump and barge them as much as possible, then back off just before it is headed. It's an exploitation of VAR. 99% of these goals wouldn't have stood pre-VAR as referees protected goalkeepers, they wouldn't allow contact on the keeper. VAR now overrules them as the contact looks soft on replays.

The advantage the keeper has of sticking his arms above everyone's head barely exists anymore.

It's not just Arsenal, everyone's doing it, us included and it's a shite way of playing the game.

Its a result of over a decade of unprecedented success also evident in the newer the platform the more followers eg WhatsApp channels City > 23m compared to Arsenal 11m In fact City are 4th overall behind Real Barca and Netflix just ahead of UCL channel
