Arsenal thread | 2025/26

Dude you've been posting repeatedly on the 'will City win the league?' thread about how firstly Spurs will get a draw, then Bayern will win and Arsenal's heads will drop, and then it will be Chelsea's turn. If Arsenal win against Chelsea (pretty likely tbh) then no doubt it will be Villa away where the Gunners come unstuck.

Like I said, fans tend to look through rose tinted lenses. At no point have I said Arsenal were comparable to that City side yet 3 separate posters have started an argument in an empty room about it! I've just said let's wait until the end of the season to determine how good this current Gunners team is.

I've watched Arsenal for many years and this is the best defensive unit I've seen, but attacking wise the Invincibles team was far superior.
Dude you’re supposedly an Arsenal supporter who has been posting repeatedly on a Manchester City forum.

Don’t try and play that card

I didn't say the team was or wasn't better. I'm saying let's wait until the end of the season and look at if there's any silverware and at that point a discussion can be had. At the moment the 'we beat Bayern' trophy doesn't really cut the mustard.

But if Arsenal win the league with 90+ points, win a CL and a cup, then the discussion can be had. Nothing to be said at the present moment with an empty trophy cabinet.

Re me 'disappearing', pretty sure I was on here all last season and we were never top. I think this is confirmation bias on your end TBH. I'm not actually avidly mad about football to the extent that it ruins my day if we lose, but of course I'd love to win something meaningful and I reckon this season we have an excellent chance in the league at least (I guess in your opinion because you and Liverpool have 'allowed' us to I suppose).
This season won't be definitive, no matter what you achieve. You have to win again and again and repeat it year after year. You may do that and only after then can the discussion be had. Not this season, far too early

Good side

Can't see anyone getting close enough to them in the league to make them wobble.

But you never know. I'd imagine they will have a spell where they have a few unexpected results but nobody else will be consistent enough to capitalise.

They've been knocking on the door a few years now and bought very well. We've gone backwards and simply not able to keep up with them.

Best team in Europe right now. Can't see how they won't win the league. CL is another matter as it's a knockout competition but wouldn't surprise me if they get that too.
Agree 100%

You can safely say Arsenal are comfortably the best and definitely the most efficient team in the EPL at the moment -but it’s the end of November. Pretty much the entire Arsenal team are bang in form -so we are sure to see some sort of drop off even taking their Injuries into account. Any talk of being better than previous great historic teams is just bollocks -as it has been with the Dippers for the past 6 years or so

Thought the rules are, That you can’t be classed as a top side unless you win back to back league titles?! Win the league and cup it a well down Arsenal took you 6 years under Arteta any you done it! Pelegrini won league cup double first in his first season! You can say now that Arsenal are the best team in europe! 12 leagues games gone 12 that’s 26 games to go!

Much like other discussions about "what's the bestest team ever" - even discussions about ones own team are subjective at best.
Technically (as in skills) your defence may be the best you've seen, but the Invincibles defence was brutally brilliant (they'd never get away with that now).
You also have to account for the midfield in front of them - if you had a Vieira figure last year you wouldn't have missed out imho.

Yep. Couldn't argue with that. The CL is a different beast. We saw ourselves that there are huge slices of luck in winning that competition. We were the best team in Europe for about 4 seasons running and won it once. It's a fucking lottery that competition. They've more chance of winning the PL than the CL

Bought big and bought well. Very deep squad now. They are a big athletic team but have quality too. Real deal I’m afraid.
This. Look at the amount of pace and power they have in their squad. We have none. The most important thing is they have goals coming from everywhere like we used to. Now if Erl doesn’t score we are screwed. Compare the fullbacks they signed Califiore and Timber to ours.

Yet they have scored the same amount of goals as City.
