Tbh I think Arteta is responsible for making your football ugly and boring to watch.

Agreed. His only interest is getting his hands on the Holy Grail (Prem) and he won't give two fucks about how he gets it. He'll probably abandon FA and League cup success (or whatever name they choose to give it) in this pursuit and lifting the Prem trophy will justify the abominable football he's got his team playing. But it won't in my book. For the money he has spent Arsenal should have been champions a couple of times already. They have had the players, no doubt, but his negative mindset has proven to be his downfall.
If Arsenal were a lower league club with part-timers playing for them most neutrals would be cheering them on, they'd be saying: "Fair play to 'em. they don't have the luxury of having internationals in their set up, their players are all taxi drivers, plumbers and bricklayers etc, so if negative tactics and dead-ball situations are all they have to try and win a major trophy then best of luck to them." But we are talking about a Premiership team full to the brim with the cream of football's elite, and an embarrassment of riches with which to ensure their conveyor belt of 'galacticos' will continue.
I think it's poor form from Arteta, and from a man who you would assume had learned a great deal from Pep he has let the club and its fans down.

As much as it leaves a sour taste, you have to give Arteta his credit. He's addressed his squad's weaknesses time and time again to the point that he now has a really strong squad.

Boring or not? I wouldn't give a fuck if we won the league playing boring football, so its a completely moot point IMO. Spent a lot? Again, I urge City to spend as much as they can and fuck everybody else, so no complaints from me there either.

Fingers crossed for the usual twitchy bums that they seem to get, but if us and the rest of the chasing pack dont get our fingers out, it wont matter.

This screams sour grapes. We gave City their flowers when they won the league. If (big IF) we win it this season there's no need to be so snippy. Unless I'm suffering a crisis of memory was it not City who were playing total Haram-Ball at the Emirates against Arsenal to try and hold on to the lead? Hoofing it up field to release pressure? Playing a deep block?

Styles make matches and if opponents set up to make it hard to get through them then it's things like set pieces that can break through. We know we aren't peak Pep Barca but teams have moved on and Arteta feels that building a formidable defence is the way to win. Let's see if he is right.

Yes, because you were facing a team that Pep said was 'better' and that's how you had to play. Most teams aren't 'better' than City but most teams that face Arsenal think Arsenal are 'better' so play low/mid block football.

Last I checked we've scored the joint 2nd most goals in the PL this season, only 1 behind the joint leaders City, Chelsea and Sp*rs.

if you are happy to watch Arteta's brand of football then there isn't a problem.

Pretty sure your fans won't give a fuck if you win the PL, but I doubt many others would claim it to be pretty.

And whilst you haven't spent as much as others, the team is hardly made up of cast offs and free transfers.

Your defence is formidable, but the methods employed in order to effect that defence, are the issue imo.

How your defenders are permitted to get away with such grappling, pulling, etc only gooners and PiGMOL's reps will be able to justify.

Arteta has been entrusted with the job of trying to create a winning team and has gone about it in a way that exposes his limitations and lack of character imho.

The manner of his recruitment pretty much confirm that as far as I am concerned.

Pep would have released him with his blessing had the approach been made in a proper fashion, as opposed to sneaking off in the dead of night at the behest of the gooner hierarchy and spiteful cartel member.
