Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

How can we say the cracks are showing with a decent away point..two weeks ago we were 2 up at half time and ended up with a decent away point!!! No one can win every game..they are four points clear, we are pretty shaky side although we are improving and Kush...what a gem to have at the back with Guehi this stage of the season... this will help us, but we are still likely to lose a couple more realistically..but still could pip it
I was referring to the fans. But thanks for the input.

It’s never a decent point when you are two goals up. A team like Manchester city should never be dropping points from that position.

Two points dropped unfortunately

I agree.

No problem with bridge or anything he says. Anyone can disagree without being a dick, but a handful of posters cannot resist and take everything as a personal attack.

The crux of it is that- Arsenal fan thinks Arsenal things are better, City fans think City things are better - who’d have thought it?

But it is a great place for “I’m the biggest blue” competition.
Theres backing your team and then there is displaying pure delusion

Coming onto this forum and saying that Declan Rice walks into a city team over the likes of prime Yaya Toure is just pure delusion and rightfully should be called out as the complete nonsense that it is.

hmmm but we're better than that....aren't we? Well we aren't really ..for me its a shame, its much better to have a proper football debate. I buried my dad last Friday 85 yrs a proper blue. He always made time to have decent football chats with opposing fans, especially without the toxic internet we used to get some good insight and have healthy debates about their team, their town, their local politics whatever,,, he also used to tell us to watch key players from the opposition too, to learn the game properly. Its way too partisan now, and we are worse off for it. Lets be the site that encourages grown up chat and not throw ridiculous petty insults... despite what other club fans may do..lets be better than that
I do agree with you. What I’m trying to say is that this forum is a mirror of society where some folk will be rude and disrespectful. There’s nothing anyone can do an do about it because that’s just the world we live in.

I don’t go on on their fans forums but I’d be surprised if they weren’t worse.

We can encourage all we want but you can’t change human nature. At least not without a bloody big stick.

Condolences regarding you dad.

Funnily enough, the commentator made no mention of that.
:) Yeah, funny (:

I was just trying to belittle conversion rate as a stat, like people do xG (Xg? whatever!:)

Anyway, little rant...

They all full on set the narrative in everything. Media? TV commentary, footie "analysis-tactics-&-chat" shows, written word anywhere it's "published, the lot.
We've got a rat of a journo asking Pep in a big-game pre-match press conference if WE'LL ever shake our moneybags image? When it's in THEIR power not ours how our image is seemingly set. Flaming coxcombs and snakes!

And I bet many on here don't have to listen to the live game commentary in our matches. But, everything they say is a negative. EVERYTHING. Goals are greeted with exhales and groans. Followed by moans about defending, lucky bounces, possible "legality infringement" checks and their favourite "little-nick-off-a-defender" - keeper would've got it normally implications aplenty.
They'll mention our form if it's poor, but then just stop. No point to it! No lead onto a tactic or a comparison with the oppositions. Any negative stat? BANG!
...and then it's onto about 5-10 mins of ignoring the action, and chat shit about our play, what the opposition need to do, historic negative stats or connections to individuals/clubs/events/etc..., and it's all normally as we pass it around attempting to find a hole in their press and by now solid back 8.

Chat-chat-chat-"implication of cheating status of club"-chat-chat-cha...
"OH F**K", the opposition have got the ball..
Bubbles appear at their mouths' edges as they rapidly report the "advantage" without any real disguise of their will for their a "successful" attack.

Meh! City have got it again...
"Did you know Haaland's only touched it 4 times this game, AND if you took away the goal's he's scored when it's been crossed in from the right City would be mid-table, at best....
OH 3-0 City!
Yeah, it was nice play, but what do you expect? You expect them to play good football when they've bought all the good players...."

...etc...etc....etc...

And so it should, without the verbal abuse some resort to, I’d say.

Yeah, agreed.
he seems ok, :) Clearly a bit one-eyed, because he's a fan.
And not so keen on his prediction of future runs/points predictions/comparison-parameters with "last season"
....etc...etc...etc ("NOW!" - wins stuff!)

But he's ok....
for somebody who's probably a 30s cock-on-knee(?) It's downright ugly down there!

But Yaya? Vs someone who's a "slight" upgrade on Jordan ********** Henderson?

???

That'd test Buddha's patience :)

Mate come on! Last night was disappointing but Brentford are a decent side. They won at Villa with 10 men for a half!

We are top by 4 points. Doesn't mean we are guaranteed to win it but that's a great position. Do you think City will win every game from now? They have to beat us which won't be easy. Both sides will drop more points but they realistically need to beat us at the Etihad.

If they turn it round and win the league then fair fucks to them but they have a big job on their hand to do that and realistically they will need to win at least 10 of their last 12 to get the league and one of those wins has to be against us. Not easy.

As a 'realistic worst case' we might draw against Spurs away, Chelsea home and Palace away and lose at the Etihad. That would put us on 84 points. I think we will actually end up more likely on 86 or 88 points.

But say we got 84 points that means City would need to get 32 points from the 36 available, meaning they can afford 2 draws or a loss and a draw, and they HAVE to beat us.
You say this but if you look at City/Liverpool when other teams were not on it, they wrapped the league up earlier and never gave anyone else a sniff. If we just kept winning and had a massive lead by now, City would be writing the PL off just like we did last season when Liverpool created a massive lead. The fact that City havent been playing well but are still within 4 points will galvanize them. We all know City have been here before and have had pulled off flawless runs of wins towards the end of the season. They have also won it in a similar position against US! previously. They can look at all that with confidence but we can look at it and get nervous.

If City win it from here, fuck the "they deserve it and fair fucks", it should be completely our own fault for letting the league title get away from us. This isnt the 100 point City and even City fans would probably tell you that we really did bottle the league this year if they won it considering the state of their team currently.

I’m not sure many of us would fare particularly well on well on the dippers, rags, tarquin’s forum or any other fan forum for that matter!
I couldn't imagine signing up to a rival club's fan forum. Why would I? I have no interest in entering into discussions with fans who I would strongly disagree with.

I have the match thread on here for that!

Standing up for him and agreeing with everything he says are very different things.

That Rice over Yaya shout is the best laugh I've had in a long time. I don't agree with a lot of what he says but some of the responses to him just being here have been bang out of order.

He's on a forum on a thread that represents his club, he's every right to contribute. And not be given the kind of abuse he's had at times.

So yeah, you probably should reassess.
My comment got more likes than yours so I’m not going to reassess and take the moral victory if that is ok with you

The gooners on here are alright. I think we've just lowered our tolerance level as we've not had the Liverpool fans on who "just want to talk football"

Arsenal are firm favourites right now. The next two league games for them and us will demonstrate which is the most serious team. Both have two tough fixtures but a serious team is looking to win both at this stage of the season especially considering the small momentum shift our previous two games have had. However I guarantee we might be considered underdogs right now but if we do win it then of course it was expected after spending £500m in the last two winter transfer windows etc etc

That bridge guy is prone to a bit of partisan giddiness (what football fan isn’t) but apart from that he seems okay to me. He always seems pretty respectful on here IMO.

Arsenal fans in general aren’t even in the same universe of cunts as the murderers and swamp tramps.
