Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Its weird given the talent they have. If they just stopped all that shit and went full throttle every game they'd probably have it sewn up by now.
Totally agree. But I think they've gone too far down the shithousery path to be able to suddenly stop, and this just keeps adding to and exacerbating the pressure that is now bearing down upon them. They're like lemmings heading to the cliff edge - and it's funny as fuck to watch.

If you spend a significant proportion of your energy and focus on shithousery tactics, such as time wasting at every single fucking opportunity, and feigning injury after every contact with an opposing player - more often that not a head injury so the game has to be stopped - then soon enough that becomes your style of play, and it supercedes any tactical plan that went before it. This is what they have become
They disrupt their own momentum with the relentless cheating. It is all Arteta’s fault.

Like I've been saying all season to the clowns in the post-post-in particular, the REASON we don't push on and try to put 4 or 5 goals past everyone every week is because THIS is what happens when you do. You burn out.

When you're getting to the stage of the season when some of those clubs start to wake up and realise they have to scrap for every point and start and playing, it starts to get a little bit harder but you're knackered and you can't cope with it because you've gone hell for leather in every match so far. Then the wheels start to come off, the gap gets shorter, panic sets in and, well, here we go again.

It's exactly what they have done every season so far, and like those whingers in the post-match they still dont get it and they keep making the same mistake. You can't play at 100 miles an hour every match in 4 competitions and expect to keep it up for 50-60 matches. We've learned to pace it and they haven't, which is why Pep has pulled in an absurd trophy haul and why they have won nothing.

Fuck arsenal winning the quadruple, we actually have the chance of stopping them winning the league, AND beating them in the league cup final, AND beating them in the fa cup AND beating them in the champions league. The quadruple quadruple stoppers, how nice would it be to beat them in all 4?

IF....

We beat these to the title I would argue it's our best title win of the current era. Purely on our team being the most inconsistent it's been in years, along with the injuries and the transition.

If we win this title the PL will be shitting it when the new squad finally clicks.

This season should be the Tarquins year. They've built this squad for this very moment. Should they blow it then Arteta needs bouncing and a new coach with a winning mentality installed.

If we win it I will be laughing all summer about how their best team couldn't beat one of most inconsistent one since the takeover.

Should we be on a winning run they will go full shithousing at ours.

We'll need a strong ref I doubt we'll get for it.

No - it's BECAUSE they've tried to go full throttle for too many games. You can't do it for 50-60 games a season, especially when you're still in all 4 competitions. You have to pace it, do enough but not too much, because if you go full on for 90 minutes twice a week for 10 months you'll just burn out. They've done it every season and they're doing it again.

I've been saying this all season, it's exactly why I've always believed we have a very strong chance to win it while everybody laughed at me because I knew they would burn themselves out and run out of steam too early, and that's precisely what they are doing.

I actually think you're doing us a dis-service. I know it's not the scintillating style we've seen in recent years but we have the people at the club that know what is required and that means not trying to win every game 4 or 5 nil and just doing enough. Let Arsenal burn themselves out, been saying all season that they will never last the pace.

We're in 4 competitions and a Wembley final for a reason. We've all but matched them without breaking stride, because there's more to doing what we do than trying to blow the opposition out of the water every week and the fact that we're where we are proves it.

5 years but 2 years to build a competitive squad and then go up against the best team the PL has ever seen and get pipped at the last. Sure, Arsenal were off it last season and this season haven't been super exciting but in the 2 years we finished 2nd to City, had City been the 'old' City and we'd been up against most of the Rags sides that won the league we'd have been champions.

Some context needed.

Since Arsenal last won the league, the following teams have won the following!

City 20 trophies
Chelsea 19 Trophies
United win 14 trophies
Liverpool 10 Trophies
Arsenal 4 Trophies

& Spurs and West Ham have both won European trophies!
