Also...they only won the league thanks to the not-so hidden hand of PGMOL. A net of 5 positive key match incidents went in their favour (i.e. pens/reds, the latter which would also have an effect on subsequent matches...), the highest in the league, while we had the 3 highest net negative incidents. They didnt deserve to win jackshit.

Gabriel skying the last pen at least made up for a tiny fraction of his cheating all season

They went all season without conceding a penalty or a red and should have had 3 of each (and that’s just the ones that were acknowledged)

If the rest of the expected challengers (us, Dips, Chelsea and yes, the rags) decide to cut out the inconsistencies they showed last season, Arsenal could struggle to get in the top 3 next season. They're not that good a side, they were simply less inconsistent than everyone else. They couldn't beat us in three games. Put it this way; they're nowhere near as good a side as the one Wenger had, which had the likes of Vieira, Petit, Henry, Bergkamp, Overmars, Pires and that famed back four.

They've manipulated situations and gamesmanship to an unprecedented level, akin to Athletico, but that's unsustainable. It's also terribly difficult to see how they could start afresh under Arteta. Their time in the sun shouldn't worry the dermatologists.

Unless arteta’s mind set changes, his legacy wont be a great one
it will be one of playing drab football, but above all one of never quite having the bollocks to go toe to toe in the big games against the top teams.

Arsenal played for pens and it didnt come off. Maybe next time try and just win the game eh?
