Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Up to 1 million fans currently lining the streets of North London would disagree that it was a shitter. That's 10x the number of City fans who turned up for your 1st title parade btw just for perspective.

Like I've said umpteen times we're happy and we build from here.
Do you ever go to games or do anything apart from post on here? First title in 22 years just enjoy it! Yes Arsenal will forever be a small club but just enjoy the ride.

Far, far more neutrals watched that match and agree that Arsenal were shit and PSG didn’t look much better. It was a dreadfully tiresome performance. The stats bear that out.

Better luck next season

I’m absolutely certain that they do.

I think that was so telling about him as an idividual and arsenal management / club. Shitty principles and behaviour.

I seem to remember seeing a comment from Pep along the lines of " if he had expressed his desire to go I/we would have let him go with our blessing ".

Says it all for me.

I guess you might argue though that if they went for it PSG would have had a much easier time carving them open. PSG weren't anything special mainly because Arsenal decided to try to hold onto an early goal and space was at a premium. Even the very best can struggle against low blocks.

If you have to choose between defending and attacking - and can't do both well within the same game - then you're not an elite side. Sure they might have got more chances had they attacked PSG, but they'd have left lots more space for those dangerous PSG midfielders, full backs and forwards. And in an attacking game, I am taking PSG to beat Arsenal every time.

They know PSG have a much better coach and players than them, hence them approaching this game with an inferiority complex.

But you don't have to go all out attack, you can still go attacking without completely abandoning their fundamental style. The few times they actually tried, they could get at PSG's defence but being Arsenal and the way they play, they didn't do it enough.

I just don't think PSG were all that good, they didn't seem to have many ideas. Our recent games against Arsenal showed you can get at them too, even when they're just playing not to lose. I was disappointed in the lack of attacking variation from PSG. None of them looked capable of producing any magic.

Mind you, I think the overall standard in Europe has dropped. Barca are Spanish champions and bang average. Arsenal are the weakest English champs in a good while. Real Madrid are not great and still handed us our arses, so you can add us to the list.

PSG are about the best of a bunch that aren't great.

Actually I wish them the same outcome - cowardly performance.

Dreadful performance for such a big game.

Arteta has demonstrated his desperation to succeed with his disgusting tactics over a few season now, culminating in finally fouling and cheating his way to a PL title ( with a massive contribution from PGMOL obviously ).

As somebody who worked with Pep , he clearly did not learn his chosen tactical approach from the master, unlike others.

A cowardly and cynical approach, he would have been better going to Atletico Madrid to hone his "style ".

He is one of Pep's disciples that I would hope never to see in any capacity at City.

And after the underhand manner of his departure to Arsenal, I would hope that the management feel exactly the same.
I think he did learn it from pep, just not directly. He saw the master at work, he tried to copy it at first but he knew he didn't have the same genius and could never reach the same levels nevermind better Pep at it so he developed the anti-pep football to counter it.

It was a huge chance to put the taunts to bed sadly for them they and happily for us it didnt happen .............they will no doubt claim that the league was the one and this was somehow a free hit ............a free fooking hit ffs if it was like that then why did hardcore shithouse negative tactics come into it ??????

For a team that loves to tell anybody within earshot that they're a massive club, the CL is never a free hit, it should always be a priority. For a club that has never won it whilst making those claims, that applies tenfold.

Just want to put some perspective as some of you are wanking yourselves silly thinking all Gooners are crying into their pillows but we're all very happy.

Even if they were crying into their pillows, it's still not as pathetic as hanging out on another teams forum during the biggest game in your club's career.

It's almost as if London's fucking huge with excellent transport links.

Described as ‘the Florence of Northern Europe’ but, unlike how we rebuilt Britain after the war, Germany restored Dresden exactly how it was before it was flattened.

We got Piccadilly Gardens instead of rebuilding the old Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Same with the Marienplatz in Munich - flattened by the Yanks, rebuilt with care and attention by the Bavarians. We booked McAlipines to supply a million tons of concrete and have a free for all in our cities.

Great to see Artetas “Catenaccio” style of play delivering what it deserves. Imagine watching that defensive filth every week…
