Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

I do think PSG are a good side but I wouldn't put them on the level of Pep's city side, apart from the last couple of years. Our treble side that ran over Real Madrid would have done them.

I think PSG last season were much better than now actually. They dropped a fair few points in the league this season and it's not a great league. Despite getting over the line in the champions league again, I think they're starting to feel the effects of all these games, summer tournaments etc. As well as the weight of expectation.

I thought they looked a bit spent last night. They can still knock the ball about and keep possession but couldn't go through the gears
Yeah Lens did push them close this season. I don't watch Ligue 1 so cannot say if PSG eased off and got complacent, or of Lens were just that good. It went down to last 2 weeks or so of the season though.

I can't quite make my mind up on them. Technically, I do agree with you - I do think City's treble side (I don't know how popular this is on here but I think the centurion side were even stronger than the treble side) would beat them, but then I look at how great a coach Enrique is and how brilliant plenty of their players are and feel it would be loathe to write them off in such a hypothetical match.

I get what you mean. They're an odd team in that they have these brilliant tempo setting midfielders, and they can clearly control the ball, yet they seem to thrive most in transition with their speedy wingers. They're not as possession heavy as Pep teams - they just looked that way last night due to Arsenal being so negative. They're very good at controlling the ball but I don't think they're as effective at breaking the low block down in the final third as Barca or City under Pep.

I think the best thing we can do for now is reserve judgement. I know that sounds mad considering they just won back to back European Cups, but I feel there's more to come from this team.

Up to 1 million fans currently lining the streets of North London would disagree that it was a shitter. That's 10x the number of City fans who turned up for your 1st title parade btw just for perspective.

Like I've said umpteen times we're happy and we build from here.
Is Keith there in his onesie? Quite fitting wearing a onesie to celebrate the proclaimed quad.

Was always gonna be tough once they went a goal down against them negative twats you would have seen a different game had they scored first ..............

Retaining the champions league is a big achievement. Year they won the first one though they’d have been out if we’d have been anywhere on it. We were awful season before last.

Think the ref was the same one who denied Athletico at least 2 stonewall penalties v them in the semi final, and of course Saka getting away with handball last night and the non 2nd yellow for the PSG penalty but they are whining about the correct call of not giving them a penalty.
The same ref was involved in virtually every knockout game they played. It’s very odd that

Goes up 100k every time someone mentions it. Is Tommy Robinson doing the estimates?

On to Cardiff and another trophy for City.

Hopefully Corner FC will play football instead of parking the bus and boring football fans to death.
