If United win the league (God Forbid!)
And we get second place the difference would be Van persie!

He could have been the player to take us further in champs league and we would have easily won the league with this guy spearheading our attack.

Reported last March we'd agreed personal terms with Van Persie.

Whether it was Marwood or the people who left him in charge, someone didn't have the experience and misunderstood what being champions meant, arrogantly assuming we had the time to hold out for a better deal.

United made the offer Arsenal needed for Van Persie, Chelsea met Hazard's terms, and we lost the league. And potentially our manager - the man who said we needed quick deals for both of them.

Some people at the club thought they knew better than the manager who'd just won the premier league. They didn't. Let's just hope everyone's learned now...

This.

Well we either haven't learned (hence the lack of movement in this window - and there ARE players out there that could make a difference) or we are waiting until summer as someone said earlier.

Think you need to add Everton, Stoke and Chelsea to that list.
Yeh to an extent,we have turned the corner over the last few seasons against chelsea, everton has it only been under mancini, before that did we not do to bad at goodison, stoke yeh your right draw or lose...

I can only remember the 4-1 at Chelsea with Mancini and the 3-1 at Everton under Hughes. Other than that I can't remember any other City wins since we came back up in 2002. Maybe I am wrong and someone will correct me..I cant remember beating Stoke away since the 1998 game. Maybe my memory is going

I remember us hammering Everton 5-1 or so at their's on the last day of the season, just don't remember which year.

That was at home in the first season at the Etihad/COMS.

It's a bit unfortunate how the fixtures have worked out but I'm preparing myself for a week of bad-press and negative articles after this game.

I don't expect us to get anything at Arsenal, we never do. The gap is going to be 9 or 10 points for a week at least and in around 2 hours or so, our title bid will look as dead as it did in March/April last year.

I understand that's incredibly pessimistic but I'm just preparing myself to quell the disappointment! I've found, over the years, it helps! Ideally we'd to ignore United and concentrate on our own games, but that is impossible. I do worry that we still need to go the Spurs and Everton as well as the Swamp and I just can't see us capitalising on Scum dropping points if they do.

Christ, the game hasn't even started yet and I'm writing us off. Sorry.

TEAM NEWS: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany (C), Nastasic, Clichy, Garcia, Barry, Milner, Tevez, Silva, Dzeko #arsenalvcity #MCFC

Suspicious package found in the Emirates car park. Police preventing people from getting into or out of the stadium according to some people on twitter, cannot verify this, anyone have news?

About as good as we can get, IMHO, if this is the confirmed team.
