They have to get the adverts in somewhere - however the ones just after the players come out of the tunnel are the worst as they seem to break the buildup

Foreign channels have it right.

15 mins of ads before the game. The show comes on at 20 to (at the earliest), you see the teams, get a couple of quick opinions, then it's inside the stadium 'til half time, when the process is repeated.

Watch how much more speed there is when arsenal or Barcelona pass. They pass it with speed and venom, unlike when we pass half hearted. This is something we must improve on asap.
