Shattered my heart , I wish I never read the details. No words to say:(
Well said, good on you.I havent read much about Arthur, i know it will have me in tears.
The reason I havent read much is because 18 odd years ok we adopted our youngest. During that time as part of the adoption process we were told of abusive cases.
These cases were horrible and have stuck in my mind all these years. Its beyond my brain how cruel some people can be. Like someone else has said it's a sad cycle which needs breaking the abuser was probably abused and so it goes on.
It was shocking to hear case after case. One thing that stuck in my head was how to tell your adopted lad of. So parents use a naughty step ( we didnt ) but some in the group thought it was ok to use for a minute or two. Than the social worker would say in some cases the naught step would lead to the kiddy than having to preform a sexual act.
This is why we had to be told of these cases and what back ground our adopted children came from.
I was told that the burn out rate for social workers on child abuse was less than 3 years. I couldnt do one day. There is a whole world out there that us who are lucky to know right from wrong. Who have/had good parents know nothing about, my eyes were truly opened.
I have praise for social workers as I know I couldnt do it. Also Forster parents who are the first people to pick these kids up and get them ready for a new family. They could tell you some horror stories.
It's easy to blame social workers but believe me I couldnt do their job. They have so many hoops to jump thought to help these children. The powers at be want the children to stay with there parents, so the social workers have to make sure ever I is crossed and ever t is crossed.
The parents of abused children go to great lengths to hide it up.
Government are to launch a national investigation into this case…
Excellent post .. my ex partner was a social worker and my current wife works in a children’s home .. so I’m familiar with what goes on as I’ve signed papers of disclosure as I’m told things in confidence. My view is none political but the social services are stretched beyond limits absolutely you would not believe what these people are up against this horrible case is just unfortunately one of many there is no point in another enquiry it’s just to make the government looking into there actually doing something. Don’t get me wrong money would of not of stopped this poor Boy’s abuse . The whole of social breakdown in this country is frightening. I’ve never been in favour of the death penalty but I’m getting tested with scum like these totally what do they give us ??I havent read much about Arthur, i know it will have me in tears.

I know mate if I take a breath and take the emotions out . But I’m at an end of what we do with these people. And I congratulate you in what you’ve done in helping out a young person’s future I know it could not of been easy I know what you’ve had go through believe me I do . Well done to to total respect.I agree with everything you say until the death penalty.
The reason for that is the abuser was probably abused as a kid so knows no better. Is it right to use the death penalty on someone that society has failed ?
I dont have the answer. And I am not excusing the abuser believe me.
Like you I am unsure on the death penalty
