Asahi Super Dry 0.0% named as club’s Official Training Kit Partner

Superdry is based in Cheltenham which is a hive of rag and dipper fans who have never seen a game in person. I live amongst them! Julian Dunkerton, who owns the Superdry brand, also owns lots of venues in the town. Outside one place called "131" some shoddy circus tents were erected just after Covid lockdown as outside drinking spaces. The local Council planning team told Dunkerton that the tents must come down but they are still there as several appeals against the ruling have been submitted.
He is a man that pushes for what he wants so expect this to run on for a while until he realises that he is messing with the big boys and slopes away.

Dunkerton is one of the original 2 co- founders and has done very well from Superdry which is now a plc business, Dunkerton is still a major shareholder but stepped down as CEO in 2015 and left altogether in 2018 but got himself reappointed as CEO in 2019 presumably unhappy with the way the business was being run & performing.
Originally the family had a cider making business which they retain & he also owns a hospitality business operating pubs & restaurants in the Cotswolds
I would assume the publicity was his main driver for bringing the case unless he saw any opportunity to endear Superdry to our enemies fans with a new collection of Zebra pants, green & gold hoodies & 80 retro shell suits
Estimated net worth £250m

Aren't most of their stores franchised?

City went to the High Court last week.
Top Intellectual Property lawyer, Michael Silverleaf asked the judge to tell the pretend Superdry to do one and to pay all City's costs.
OK he put it in slightly more legal speak than that but basically stated the clothing company's claim was without basis in law.
The report in the Telegraph doesnt bother telling us what the outcome was. Journalism at its finest.

Doubt there is a verdict yet judges have to consider all the evidence before making a decision
