it doesnt matter who's at fault in this particular skirmish, society is a fecking mess, you cant mix religions and expect the more radical ones to accept it all, its the same here, there are areas my 19 year old son cant venture into at night because he is white Australian
Can't mix religions? I got married in front of load of Buddhist monks not a vicar. You pointed out the most important word - radical. The majority of all people here get on no matter what religion, and look at Bigga's last post. We are all puppets being led into some kind of race war. 'Anger at Lee Rigby's murder' all over the press. The anger should be against a couple of fruitcakes, not a whole religion.

theres always plenty of radicals mate

as I said, no go areas for my son in Brisbane, is that good ?

I am tired of it and all the stupid racist shit.

Aren't you all tired of the misdirection and the stoking of words?

The video shows what it wants. There is no capture of the beginning nor the middle, just the 'end' result.

Perhaps the girls were being 'hard' and race baiting cos girls can get away with such things?

Maybe the 'victimised' group were all calling out racial stereotypes cos they were in their cosy gangs. Listen to the boy, after all! He says "I don't want it!" not "I didn't say/ do anything!"! There is CLEARLY more that was going on before.

There is a limit that people can put up with.

And then some chump decides to pour more fuel on a perceived event by the title of the thread!

Yet, on here, even the 'smart' people (the few of you) are reacting rather than thinking.

You are puppets. The other reactors are puppets too. There are puppets on both/ all sides and none of the puppets can see cos you're blind sided by the media's successful stoking of events.

You should be tired of being puppets.

You're a puppet. You getting worked up (if you truly believe what you just wrote) is how "the media's stoking of events" turns your reaction into a typical puppet.

When the problem can't be talked about without it escalating into an all out tutting exercise or rant by each side it's an indictment of the failure of our societies take on multiculturalism.

There are protagonists on both side of the fence and the moderates should force them to adopt are more acceptable relationship through enforcing the law more stringently.

As a poster above mentioned this is about bullying and if it were one of my children on the receiving end of it i'd want closure and not victim blaming...treat the incident for what it is and not what we see it as from a personal perspective.

Used to live about 200 yard's from where this happened.

In the 70's when I was at school on Kenyon St it was a mixed area with less 'white' kids than Asian. The teachers had each class divided into 3. English speakers, those who could understand a little English and those who couldn't and this was on the last junior year.

Move on 10 years and the pubs were in the most mixed and calm in the area. There was even an Asian landlord in the Oddfellows.

I moved to Oldham for 25 years ago and apart from visiting the area with work have not been back but, it always looks a calm area.

The video shows a snapshot but posters as usual jump into burn them/it's not their fault camps.

In short there are much worse areas than Ashton but there are scum in every race and colour.

You went to Holy Trinity I'm guessing, my godfather lived at the bottom of Richmond St.,you're right it was a very quiet area.
A mate of mine lived on Blandford St.,it was extremely cheap to buy and his neighbours were an aisan family who were sound, they let me wait in theres' and gave me a brew, till he got home from work.
We used to play the lads from the area at cricket on Richmond St. playing fields,I sincerely hope this is an isolated incident, and Ashton doesn't end up like Oldham.

What an idiot. You cannot read, obviously.

I'm not angry, I'm BORED of it all.

What you're saying is the media has stoked the fires of anger in people and I am a 'puppet' for being bored???

LOL!! Just take that in for a moment, then go hide in a dark cupboard for a few days...
