Is it time to rethink our test team like we did T20? most of these players seem out of form yet still get picked..Feel sorry for anyone who has travelled to Aus to watch this and hear all the stories in the clubs etc.

The rain may well save them. I hope it doesn’t because they don’t deserve to be saved.

its should have happened 10 years ago and the ECB should be challenged and another cricketing body take over and new mix of ex-players and younger people running cricket there is too many at the ECB who know nothing about modern day cricket and if they can send out this squad to take on the ashes says it all about the ECB
questions must be asked about the spin bowling or lack off it and why have a part time spinner for the last 4 years and even moeen ali batting is not good enough for the team never mind his part time spin and we have a leg spinner Adil Rashid who takes wickets and over there would have took wickets on there pitches its shocking and that is just the first question and the 2nd must be alastair cook why have we stuck with him when last time over there was shit and lost 5.0 we still took swing bowlers again this tour ??????
so yes the test setup must be changed this winter and we must have a set batting line up and bowling with 2 full time spin bowlers and speed and bounce added no more part time spin or people in for doing a couple of things and covering gaps you should be in the team because your the best at what you do and not your part time thing questions must be asked about joe root being captain and the behind the scenes it looks like root does not have full control his players and that is not right

We have had an obsession with playing bowlers only because they can bat a bit rather than just on bowling merits. Works at home but not away against the good sides.
I think cook will retire after these tours and Anderson can't have long left now.

Can’t see cook retiring and Anderson be around for the ashes at home where after that he will retire.

Totally agree. We only have to look at the Aussie line up. 1 Full time spinner. Various styles of bowlers not just swing bowlers on nothing pitches. They have also picked players on form, we seen in the summer at home that these batsman are not good in enough against the better bowlers. Think maybe its time we need to be ruthless with players like Cook, Vince, even maybe players like Stoneman and Malan (he has been ok this series) We cannot keep going back to these players especially Vince. A lot of people wondering why he was selected. I'd rather see someone like Roy or Hales in there, or at least given a chance. We give everyone at least 3/4 chances...they do bad and we give them more chances. I don't think Cook has been at his best for a few series now. Serious questions need to be asked because its just not good enough.
I love Root but surely he must take some responsibility for actions on/off the pitch. He seems a nice guy and I have always wanted him Cap but he needs to be tough with his pals in the squad.
Stokes is a big miss but I really doubt he could change these sudden collapses we seem to have, kinda embarrassing how easy and quick we give up.
