Totally agree. We only have to look at the Aussie line up. 1 Full time spinner. Various styles of bowlers not just swing bowlers on nothing pitches. They have also picked players on form, we seen in the summer at home that these batsman are not good in enough against the better bowlers. Think maybe its time we need to be ruthless with players like Cook, Vince, even maybe players like Stoneman and Malan (he has been ok this series) We cannot keep going back to these players especially Vince. A lot of people wondering why he was selected. I'd rather see someone like Roy or Hales in there, or at least given a chance. We give everyone at least 3/4 chances...they do bad and we give them more chances. I don't think Cook has been at his best for a few series now. Serious questions need to be asked because its just not good enough.
I love Root but surely he must take some responsibility for actions on/off the pitch. He seems a nice guy and I have always wanted him Cap but he needs to be tough with his pals in the squad.
Stokes is a big miss but I really doubt he could change these sudden collapses we seem to have, kinda embarrassing how easy and quick we give up.

County cricket isn't fit for purpose and the England team have been so ashamed of one-day failure they have decided that all they care about is how quickly they can get 350 in white ball cricket. Thus our squad is incapable of playing red ball cricket at any meaningful level. There's too little meaningful exposure to red ball cricket in the sub-continent and down under, and any half-decent will jump on a plane to play T20 and learn very little skills in the process.

would not surprise me tbh :D, might improve the team somehow..

Yep 100%...we are going to fall way behind in Tests, team is ageing and seems like we have nobody good enough to replace our main stayers...worrying really especially when we are being dominated with this team v Aus

tis the problem when you can't rely on a steady stream of South Africans and New Zealanders to come over and carry the players actually developed and honed in England.
