Hameed averaged 20 odd in CC last season, not sure he's ready for this just yet.Hameed - Lancs
Browne - Essex
Davies - Somerset
Burns - Surrey
Take your pick,or do you need me to throw a few others into the mix ?

He's been in before, and did very well until the broken finger remember though, got to be worth another crack
Well the way our openers are playing anything would be worth a try. I'd bring Hales in just to try something different. He's been in before, and did very well until the broken finger remember though, got to be worth another crack
We look inacapable of scoring runs, its like we are just waiting to get out. Surely we have to find a way to score 3 or 4 an over and try and put some pressure back on the aussies. At this rate the aussies know they will bowl us out as we aren't good enough to bat that long to get the runs.
He would have been a disaster this tour, looks incapable of playing short bowling in the championship, let alone at test level in Aus.
Well you know what England cricket team is like for chopping and changing,as for having a disaster I presume you have seen our latest scorecards, there are a few whose gonna need to improve quickly,no way should he be forgotten about and he is still young, get him in I say
TBF Australia haven't scored at a great rate most of the time so far either. We probably aren't getting this total either way, personally I'd rather our batsmen showed a bit of discipline and made it difficult for Australia rather than gifting their wickets trying to score at 4 an over. The only thing I would say is that one of the right handers probably has to take on Lyon at some point and try to hit him off his line or preferably out of the attack. We look inacapable of scoring runs, its like we are just waiting to get out. I think he's the answer long term, it would have been idiotic to bring him on this tour though before he's sorted out some pretty clear flaws, might have ruined him for good.
Root is scoring nicely, just feels like Malan is a matter of time. 8 from 43 balls and offering nothing offensively and looks nervous as hell.TBF Australia haven't scored at a great rate most of the time so far either. Root will always score at a reasonable rate. Malan does look nervous, he's just got to stay there as long as he can and hope it gets easier but I agree getting totally bogged down isn't going to help him.Root is scoring nicely, just feels like Malan is a matter of time. 8 from 43 balls and offering nothing offensively and looks nervous as hell.
