There's certain referees who don't seem to mind 'being conned' at The Swamp.
Marvin said:Don't think they will. They are very good at closing games down. That's basically their game. Run around like mad in midfield and combine with a well organised defence. They will want to bounce back after Wembley semi-final.black mamba said:I expect refs to give United penalties nowadays , especially at the Swamp ...
and i'm also expectin' Everton to roll over for them next week at Old Tarfford , like they normally do ......
Ashley Young surely wont win a 3rd penalty in successive home games at the Swamp. Not because of the odds, but because of the image that's now imprinted on every ref's mind. If I was a ref watching that, I'd be thinking the cheating b@stard, he's not going to get me with that (but maybe that's why I'm not a ref)
true, it could well put a doubt in the refs mind as you have said he may just think did he dive, and not be so quick to point to the spot, but little chance of it happening at the swamp only away games imo....Marvin said:Maybe but I think it was a factor in the Wigan game. Utd benefited from the Evans foul and the disallowed goal, but lost 2 good penalty shouts. Next time a Utd player goes down in the box, they might just think am I being conned?jimharri said:''Now; where did I put that ''clutching straws'' pic again?
Example: Suarez. He doesn't get half as many decisions now as he used to
We saw Tevez booked for a "dive" at Norwich in what turned out to be a clear-cut penalty yet Young got another penalty for a dive. But could you spot them in real time?dronefromsector7g said:There's certain referees who don't seem to mind 'being conned' at The Swamp.
Marvin said:Last weekend he did it, and I am sure that was a factor in Wigan escaping 2 good penalty shouts at the DW.
He's done it again in a game they were always going to win which means next time Utd have a penalty shout there's going to be a moment's doubt in the ref's mind, and that's all it takes.
Could be crucial now as Utd's remaining games are likely to be tight affairs: Everton, City, Swansea and Sunderland.
Refs aren't cheats. They are humans who are conned, and they watch the TV like the rest of us.
Shut up. One draw and we win the titleBobbies Black Bins said:Marvin said:Last weekend he did it, and I am sure that was a factor in Wigan escaping 2 good penalty shouts at the DW.

These orders come from the very top...
Everton will roll over and have their bellys tickled, you think Moyes wants to do us a favour?
It will be sorted they get at least a draw at our place lets have a wild stab and say the ref will be either Clattenburg, Mason, Atkinson or Webb.
Swansea and Sunderland have both started their summer holidays early.
As bobby has said it's over no matter what we do.
