I drove down it before for the first time in a while today. Apart from a pocket of Scandinavian looking houses near the the city centre, is this the most deprived road in Britain? It truly depressed me!

It's miles better than it was though. The new Morrisons and all the other units going up near the Half Way, couple of 5 a side pitches being built near the canal bridge. The A8 Glasgow to Edinburgh takes some beating but the winner for me is the road from the M62 that goes through Dewsbury.

I once went to a training companies HQ in Liverpool City center, to get to it, we went through the dregs of Liverpool. The worst part, even though it was scheduled for "refurbishment" was the street upon street of derelict, boarded up houses. It was truly depressing. They were Victorian terraced houses aswell. Pity.

True, and I actually think Hyde Road is in a worse state than Ashton Old Road. Did jeeves drive too slowly in your limo, past the peasant areas? You poor fucker, i hope you bathed in panda milk as soon as you got home! I suggest going on the m60 circular home to prestbury, instead of cutting straight through the centre, where a lot of life's underachievers reside.
