If you want to see seriously deprived, go to Burnley or Rochdale

Burnley on a grey day.I'd need to be on Prozac or heroin to live there.

The A8 Glasgow to Edinburgh takes some beating but the winner for me is the road from the M62 that goes through Dewsbury.

Christ!

Im going to Dewsbury this evening to pick up a tyre from Ebay. never been, is it rough?

Have you seen the movie " Deliverance "?

You may come back with less tyres on your car, than you went up to buy, if you are lucky. Have a nice trip ;)

Why pick on Ashton Old Road?

The whole of east Manchester is a very grim place indeed, It has to be the largest area of urban desolation and dereliction in the country.

Oldham Road is dreadful, so is Rochdale Rd. Hyde Rd too.

Yeah....only east manc is bad.....cos Stockport Road up to say McVities is like the Champs Elysee.....

Tin hat on. Apart from Wilmslow road, Mancunian way from Birchfields, and Chester road. Every artery into Manchester city center is pretty grim. They are making an effort around Great Ancoats, but you can still turn a corner and find yourself back in a disaster movie. Alot of people on here are too proud to tell the truth, but only a fool would walk around east Manchester thinking it was 'bloody great'.

The investment around Salford quays, Castlefield and Hulme, which was prettymuch the same as the above 20 years ago, has really shown many parts of central Manchester up.

Yeah you got me I'm a right snob from Droylsden and the Edge lane part too!! Anyway the point I was making before " I'm more Manc than you shit started" is that for a major trunk road into the city centre I would of thought I would of attracted more investment like other parts ie Chapel St in Salford. Some serious paranoid people on here.

you make a very good point, we are neglected, anything to do with the bbc moving and the scum being over there.

The scum being where? Are you saying Salford people are scum, or are you referring to United who are in Trafford?

Good un.

In 2005 Dewsbury became "the town that dare not speak it's name" after a 12 year old girl tried to hang a 5 year old boy and the ringleader of the July 7th bombings came from there.
