asmir begovic

glad mancini left now, if we would have got rid of hart it would have been one of the most stuipid decisions ever. One of the best young keepers in europe imo, despite the mistakes recently

Having two keepers at a similar age and similar level of ability inevitably causes friction. In my opinion Joe needs an experienced keeper who is approaching the end of his career to learn from. Who that is I’m not sure but he doesn't need to be a top class one given the handful of games they will play a season. Maybe a Mark Schwazer or Brad Friedel are the type we should be aiming for.
Freidel is too old. Maybe Julio Cesar? He is 33. Still a great keeper when on song. Arsenal are offering only 1 million quid for him. His salary though would be 3x as much as Pantillimon.

Is age that much of an issue and especially for a goalkeeper? I don't think so and especially not with the fitness of todays footballers/athletes. Brad Friedel would be a great signing yet clearly at 42 he wouldn't be a long term solution.

Could give some great experience to Joe though. Schwarzer recently joined Chelsea and not once did I think that he's too old, even at 40 - I thought it was a clever signing.

Our old goaly coach -massimo told me that we were going to buy Begavic back in April. I put it on the transfer forum and got absolute dogs abuse. Mancini was very much of the opinion that joe was not as good as he thought.

Mancini was of the opinion Joe wasn't good enough or was it the fact that he openly criticized the team that hurt Mancini's ego?

Mancini strikes me as someone who is paranoid about the little things and seeing Hart criticize the team and him knowing the influence he has within the dressing room it would have been in Mancini's best interests to sell Hart to stop him undermining him.

Mancini probably realised that Hart is up his own arse since we won the prem and more interested in being a metrosexual soccer celeb than improving his craft.

Hart needs a severe kick up the arse.

Could everyone please lay of Hart he is a top keeper yes he has made afew errors of late but as also pulled out some amazing save we could have been two down by half time today if it wasn't for him! Our CBs today were poor and their lack of pace really showed! We were hurt by set pieces that's every players fault. To be honest I think we missed a commanding CB and leadership.

"If Mancini and I were still at Man City this year, Joe Hart wouldn't be there," Platt told Al Jazeera. "We made a decision to sign Asmir Begovic."

He gets paid a hell of a lot of money to make those saves, that's his job to make saves and not to make mistakes.

Begovic is a good goalkeeper but no were near as good as Hart.

Disgraceful and so wrong.
