Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Yes I get that but sometimes they dawdle on it too long. I noticed yesterday we lost the ball a lot when we tried going down the left side so kept playing to the right.

All to do with not having a left footed player on that side and hey Ake came on! Now Walker has a knock we have to play Gomez as our left back and Cancelo on the right

14 points after 6 games, I’m happy with that, we will get a few more draws and the odd loss to the likes of Villa, beating the top 6 sides will decide whether or not we win the title ..
I’m fully confident City will retain the title this season ..
I think it will be close this year as a lot of teams will take points of each other in a mad WC year. I reckon a point either way between us and spurs..Liverpool pipping Chelsea or Arsenal to 3rd anf utd 5th missing 4th by a couplde only. Shpuld have done the guessing positions game at startt of season for all 20 places

Which is a worry as Cancelo is even worse on his naturally favoured position bizarrely.

We’ve not lost away in the league for over a year and are close to breaking the PL record for longest unbeaten away run.
Draws won't win the league. 3 out of last 4 away drawn, and we haven't been playing top teams.

A point from the game yesterday is not the end of the World, but I was disappointed with our overall performance. We had the game under control, particularly after we had scored, but then went on and threw 2 points away in a few moments of madness. As many others have already pointed out, we can not stop crosses getting into our box. A few players not really firing yesterday, Walker in particular and Foden. I thought that Pep might have put Alvarez on for the last 15 minutes after being so impressive against Forest. To me Mahrez looks a bit disinterested at the moment and his finishing has gone off the boil. On to Tuesday now. Hope we can get a good result and put the Villa game behind us.

Think it's always hard for City when we come out of a season like we had last year, especially when there hasn't been much of a break. It's a completely new season with new challenges, new teams, and the run-in will be different. We need to keep pace with Arsenal, who are current front runners, but we've not played another top six team yet. There's lots of positive signs for us, a few things we need fix in training, but we are sitting second. A bit more old school of not getting too obsessed with the table until you've played 10 games would be helpful for us I reckon.
