I’ll not be judging any new players this early in the season. Too many players before have improved after 6-18 months. Nico G being a good recent example.

Agree.Last 3 starts with Stones in the league: 3 City losses (Spurs, Brighton, Villa). Our record with him in the starting XI since the start of last season is appalling: under 1,5 ppg. But it's Pep's fault to play him mostly in midfield today. Think that was a mistake. We were a mess in midfield in the first half.
Imo, Pep should have played the same defence (Dias and Gvardiol at CB, Nunes and O'Reilly at FB) and go for other decisions at DM (say, Bernie and Kova). Reijnders lacks defensive qualities. Playing him deep creates rather than solves problems.
Foden is a bit lightweight for a midfield role away from home when we lack a proper DM in the team. He's more of a second striker than a pure midfielder.
Our campaign depends on Rodri. He's irreplaceable right now, although Gonzalez is very good.
If Rodri stays fit, we can compete. Without him we'll be inconsistent.
