Just watching a bit live now, first time in ages I’ve caught one - I’d forgotten just how cringeworthy and awful these things are. Painful to watch.
I don’t see the point of them me. Same with pre- and post-match interviews with managers and players.

Barely anything of interest is ever asked and, even if it is, managers and players hardly ever respond with any insight into anything and try not to give anything away.

Player interviews especially are just media trained borefests.

Just pure content-filler for the overdeveloped and bloated football media circus we have in this country.

Going into a game with no Defensive midfielder? I've seen this movie before.

Expecting a defeat here; I can't see Nico.G being fit in time.
Best possible alternative is a Bernardo or Kovacic double-pivot with Stones.

Frustrating as I thought we'd win there comfortably with Nico.G and Khusanov.
For fuck sake , they're not a patch on what they were. Anything other than a win will be an underachievement. Couple of weeks ago Gonzalez was nowhere near good enough for us ,now he can't be done without. Khusanov good as he is hasn't featured all that often in his time here either. No excuses.

After their midweek display if we put in another second half performance like a brood of ‘stay behind chickens’ we could be in trouble.

Thing with NG is without the ball he is quality! Now without him if we put anyone else in off the ball they are very poor, we lose the ball high up we have then no one to win it back stones silva Kovacic are piss poor at wining the ball back Maybe Riejnders can do a better job than them! No NG means we will be under the cosh more!

From memory our two last games at Villa Park have resulted in wretched performances.

They don't appear to be firing on all cylinders but equally they finished strongly at Tottenham last week, whereas City's last few away games have seen us finish on the back foot.

Time for his teammates to take the weight off Haaland's shoulders.

You say that but when Nico O'Reilly played for the EDS he filled that role really well.

Last season was a horror show, half arsed and inept. I'm hoping for a tip top showing from us and a win would be most welcome.

We never seem to get a break with injuries, and these sort of games are always tough. Based on who we have available this is the line up I’d like to see.

…………………..Donnarumma
Nunes…..Stones…….Gvardiol……O’Reilly
…………..Bernardo…..Reijnders
Cherki………….…Foden…………..Doku
…………………..Haaland

Wouldn't be surprised if Nico's absence resulted in Pep going back to the "thousand million passes" / clog the middle formation.

Donnarumma
Nunes Dias Gvardiol O'Reilly
Stones Kovacic Bernardo
Foden Haaland Doku

Something like that.

That midfield would get absolutely battered

Bernado nipped in fairly quickly to secure the lovely header the other day, and as regards “lightweight” he left his mark on Gabriel in the match against arseanal.
I’m not saying I disagree about Nico, he looks a talent, but Silva is still putting in a good shift.
Still puts himself about but I’d be worried about his physicality v the likes of McGinn and Onana who are both cuntish fuckers.

Given our 2 choices at the 6 are both out would you rather set up human sized traffic cones?
No but no need for a stupid sarcastic comment either. Nico G not ruled out and if he is then I’d definitely play Kovacic there. The only person who said anything about traffic cones was you, and what a puerile comment it was. I would draw your attention to the last time I thought we put a lightweight midfield out, spurs at home, and we got absolutely battered in midfield. Fucking hell

We lost at Brighton and Villa Park is always tough. Gonzalez is crucial because he's our only 'fit' DM. A draw is a decent result.
