Aston Villa (H) - Post-Match Thread

The primary objective is securing the three points. Nothing more. Yes, a 90 minute performance, where we score 7 or 8 goals would be wonderful. But let's be honest here; how many of them have there been this season, particularly since the 6-3 derby win? Precious few. It appears that this is not a 90 minute team. As long as they get the job done I can live with it.
Well sure thats fine, but I want better games than I can live with it, we can want more.

A decent first half but we are still so so. We are in the mix but we will have to improve a lot to win this title. Second half, I know we made a few changes and took our foot off the gas but Villa, without doing hardly anything, could have got a stuffy draw.

We need our strongest first eleven as often as possible, especially in defence. We still look about 20% off it and a few players struggling for form. We can't keep a clean sheet and when we concede, even at 3-0 up, we wobble. Win on Wednesday and it could change everything . When are Arsenal going to play this bloody extra game they seem to have had in hand all season?

Not seen a replay of the Haaland Martinez collision, for those watching on the box was it the right call? Looked a 50/50 at the time, not sure it’s a foul either way, just a coming together.

Fabulous first half. God if only that sensational Grealish volley had gone in, I'd have loved to see some closeups of the Villa fans' faces. Shame big Erl seemed to have a knock but hope all is well.

Second half a bit of a non-event really, but fair enough if we were saving energy, we're gonna need it in a few days to go top of this damn league.

The boys in blue never give in the boys never give in CITY Manchester City

Much better performance in the first half. Got the response we were all waiting for post Pep's outstanding performance in the pre game press conference.

Thought Rodri was superb, same with Bernardo until his mistake for their goal. Grealish continues his form, and Foden finally returning is great news. Thought Dias and Laporte played well together, we didn't look as assured at the back with Dias coming off for Akanji, but second half we definitely put the cue in the rack.

Liked the formation as it got our better players on the pitch. Hoping for a back 4 of Walker, Dias, Laporte and Ake against Arsenal. Think that's our best defensive line up with Stones out.

Hope Haaland's injury isn't to major, don't think it is as he looked fine up until half time but you never know with knocks.

Onto Arsenal now, hoping we bring the intensity from the first half to their anti-Oil even though their sponsored by Emirates Stadium.
