Villa have to play on Thursday against a team battling for survival. They’ve only just met recently as well, so you often find that when teams meet in quick succession, there is a bit of ‘afters’ in the game.

Villa will be a little more like Wolves than West Ham, so while they’ll drop deep, they don’t have the same height and physicality and, thus, will seek to break in groups.

It’s in our hands, in our stadium, and if the players want it, they’ll get it.

They played in Burnley on the 7th and now host them on Thursday, so they’ll only have Fri/Sat to prepare for us. Quite an open game against Palace today, apparently. Because Burnley and Leeds will still be in the mix, Gerard is duty bound to field a strong side.

Plus it’s their last home game of the season so I am sure he will want to end with a home win
