He is not a proper full back and that point was proven beyond doubt today add to that Cancelo is poor on what is meant to be his intended position.

The defence today was shambolic we are lucky to still be in command of our destiny and have a chance to get something workable defenceively in place for next Sunday.
This is what annoys me. When he plays really well it’s ignored yet when he doesn’t play well it’s held up as proof that he isn’t a full back.

He played a crucial role in the first two goals against wolves (he won the header that started the attack for the first and played the ball into KDB for the second - who then played it to Raz). He played a crucial role in two against Newcastle (again won a header to start the attack and also directly assisted one).

He was poor today but so was everyone at the back. He’s allowed to be poor without it being proof that he isn’t a left back. He’s played the position for 4 seasons now. He’s perfectly fine there. Certainly won’t find a better back up left back option anyway.

I think Ralphs under pressure However he does have a history of chang8ng to dubious tactics against his countryman. Soton fans are calling for his head. Still dont expect anything from them though. Maybe romelu can maim a couple at least

i have more hope wolves can spoil for a point but thats doubtful too With coady
Southampton did win the fixture last season

....................Ederson ..................
Cancelo Ake Laporte Zinchenko
....Bernardo Rodri Gundogan ....
Foden ..........Jesus ............KDB

Mainly I just don't want Sterling or Mahrez to start. If we don't win because the others couldn't push it over the line, so be it. I just don't want to debate if it was the 2 usual suspects' fault.

Reckon Stevie will be shameless enough to rest Villa's best players on Thursday?
Dont think so, he'll want to finish as high as he can in the table. a win on thusday and they could jump a couple of spots and he'll think that is surely a game more likely to win than against us so will go all out. west ham showed the template of how teams can score agaisnt us, so will sit back and hit over top on the break

Worried about our backline, but knowing Pep, he'll put Ederson alongside Egon-Riley. Stranger things have happened.
i'm more worried that we won't have a fit penalty-taker.
