Impossible to pick one. Certainly not our piss weak central defenders, who let Watkins drop off them to lay the ball off to their midfield runners completely unmolested all afternoon, certainly not our piss weak central midfielders, who allowed Villa players to wriggle out of one tight spot after another and then drive at our retreating back four, certainly not our powderpuff wingers and their non-existent end product……..which pretty much leaves the goalkeeper and the subs. Gonzalez or Donnarumma. It’s a toss up

He's tall, but not that tall. He had no chance of saving that.

Donnarumma as without him it could have been a heavy defeat. No one else impressed but Gonzalez was good when he came on, sadly he didn't start.

Donna kept it respectable.

He made two saves, the second of which was because his first could have been better, and one block / tackle. He had no hope with their goal. His pass completion was very good, so his performance was beyond reproach but not sure about MotM.

My vote went to Phil who made 7 key passes, which is huge. His overall stats were the best of any player. Even his booking was a “good” foul.
