Very hard to pick anyone today. Went for Foden, just because he looked slightly more lively than the others. But no-one played well, if we're being truthful.

The Don kept us in it and Nunes did ok. Nico G also did ok when he came on.
Pep needs a fucking good slap around the head for that line up. The game was over before it even started and even though I then banged £20 on Villa at 7/2 when I saw the teams, it’s money I really didn’t want to win.

Only Donna came out with any credit. The rest was so poor. Best player on the park was Cash.

Nobody. They were like fireworks, fizzled and shone for a few minutes each before disappearing without trace. A few damp squibs in the box, too…

I haven't the first clue what his actual role was today, it looked like he'd been told to "run around a bit" which he did to be fair, but to absolutely no effect for me. I thought all the forward players were poor, best defender was Nunes, until he nearly gifted them a goal, well saved by Donnarumma, so gave it him (D).

It's a strange game to really give an opinion, as were quite neat and tidy at the back, and into midfield, then pointless. I gave up watching with 10 minutes to go as the coverage on my IPTV was so stop/start I could no longer be bothered restarting it every 30 seconds, and it was obvious we weren't going to score.

I might have given it to him if it wasn't him who was responsible for Haalands goal being ruled out!

And now, to cap a miserable day, Haaland could miss a few games after colliding with the post!
Yeah, I have heard it said, to make offsides more straightforward and to give more favour to scoring goals, the rule should simply be where the players feet are, and if the rest is of the forward player’s body is leaning forwards, ahead of the defensive player, that should be ok.

Not just saying it because of today, but if that change was made to the rule, I’d be happy with it.

Nunes was decent along with Dias and to some extent Donnarumma but I wouldn't say Villa battered us in that regard to call him PotM.

Went with Doku who I thought looked pretty threatening when he came on and could have had a couple of assists.

He made two saves, the second of which was because his first could have been better, and one block / tackle. He had no hope with their goal. His pass completion was very good, so his performance was beyond reproach but not sure about MotM.

My vote went to Phil who made 7 key passes, which is huge. His overall stats were the best of any player. Even his booking was a “good” foul.

I thought Phil was poor, but he wasn't on his own on that.

I clearly have no idea what a "key pass" is.

In a team that doesn't score a goal (or even look like scoring one), nobody has made a "key pass", in my opinion. Another made up stat by these "stat" companies.

I think we all knew what was coming when we saw the line-up
Foden least put some effort in and worked hard ……as for the other “forward players “ the least said the better
