Aston VIlla - relegation?

Unless they start scoring goals and quickly then yes. However Burnley, Leicester, Hull and QPR will give them some stiff competition.

The sad irony is that a club with all the fabled "history" you'd ever want will be the most discernible victim of FFP. The type of club that fans of united, Liverpool and Arsenal used to draw comparisons with us in an unfavourable way.

In footballing terms it really is a tragedy what collateral damage this iniquitous system has caused a club such as Villa. Even more so that their supporters could not see it coming. They've been completely had over, just like supporters of Everton and Newcastle - and like numerous victims of a con many of they still haven't quite cottoned on to the fact they've been tricked.

Your forgot to add Palace to that list. When it comes to poor performances we are determined to be up there with the best or perhaps the worst.

I thought the same last season. They were the worst team we played. Annoyed we lost to them this season, but they generally defend quite well for a team near the bottom and every so often Benteke, Weimann or Gabby does something to win a game. I think that will be enough to keep them up.

I get the impression Lerner wants to recoup much of the money he spent with Oneil by spending very little and remaining in the Premiership. Once he has done that he will probably run in like a business, which will be good for them. The question is for how many seasons can they keep treading water.

Not sure if they can keep chancing it. The bottom 3 are capable of getting plenty of points. Villa have not scored for ten hours! Only 11 goals all season. I think they will finish bottom.
Guess that's the gamble. Only chance he has of making his money back. I agree it is very, very risky.

Or like most people, are ashamed to admit it.

They were absolutely shocking today and i am convinced they will go down. Are they too big a club who will bounce back like we have done it could they plummet like sheff Wednesday or Leeds?
.....and City ;o) we got lucky in that playoff, who knows where we'd be if we hadn't ? Yeah its a while ago but lets not forget.

It's possible, we had a bet at work before the season and I said they'd go down because they've been pretty bad for the last couple of years. It's not FFP that's the problem for Villa though, they could have built on the decent core they had a few years ago before the rules even existed but they sold the players off instead. They've made a lot of mistakes in recent times and I think they're probably about to pay for them.
