Aston VIlla - relegation?

Usually teams at the bottom don't have goalscorers and leak goals but Villa have have the best defence of the bottom half clubs & potential goalscorers in Benteke, Agbonlahor, Weimann, plus Delph as well. The problem is they aren't getting the right service. Teams like West Ham, Swansea & Stoke are doing OK so it has to be down to the manager. No one is expecting them to be top 6 but they shouldn't be facing a relegation battle.

Agree that the service has been shite, that's why I think Carles Gil is such an interesting signing for them, if he is even half of what he was being talked about in Spain at one stage he'll fire them right back up the table.

As to Lerner, the impression amongst supporters of his old NFL club was that he was bored with that and truly had passion only for his SAWCCCER team.

I think he is just a bad businessman. He sold that NFL club (owning one is akin to owning a printing press that cranks out dollars by the tens of thousands each second) around late 2012 I think. Which was around the time the EPL officially adopted FFP. So selling the club that is guaranteed to make you ungodly amounts of money forever (and which can't be relegated) in order to be on the wrong side of FFP in England. Brilliant idea, that.

One of my good mates from University is a huge fan of that Cleveland club in the NFL and it sort of made me a casual fan over the years. Lerner always used to spend money heavily there but did give off the vibe that he was not highly interested. At one point he was paying a bloated parasite 8 million US$/year to be something analogous to a Director of Football. But the guy rarely ever even visited the city of Cleveland and his actual responsibilities were pretty much "sit in for Lerner at NFL owners' meetings." (Which Lerner could never be arsed to attend.)

In the end a spoiled rich kid. Inherited the NFL team from his father. Not surprising to me he made a poor go of it at Villa.

They look bad this season and how lambert has get is job for so long I don't know! If only they had kept Roy Keane aswel

Carlos Gil looks half decent. I still think they'll have enough to stay up though.

They are dicing with it! I think burnley are going to go looking at there fixtures, leicster too and then villa. Qpr and hull will do it! Will villa go in the bottom 3 tonight?

They're gone. This game was huge for them and not a single player showed any fight or desire to win it. To be honest when your manager is Lambert who is about as inspirational as a turd smeared on a wall you are always facing an uphill battle.

They deserve to be relegated for the shocking football they've played. I can't believe they aren't rock bottom with the amount of goals they've scored. Lambert has done a truly awful job there, he must have an awful lot mate in the media to not be getting absolutely slaughtered. (the scotish managers all seem to)
