Serves them right for nicking our manager.
I hated Villa for nicking Billy Mc. Loved it when we beat em 3-1 at Maine Rd in the autumn (Paul Moulden bagged a couple IIRC and Tony Daley ran about 75 yards - very fast indeed - to score theirs. Billy Mc got some that day - he effectively relegated two clubs (with a lite help from his friends Swales and Ellis). Served him right and he knew it. At least he admitted he got it wrong so he must be relieved that I forgave him at least ;-)

Some
I have a soft spot for the Villa, having lived in the region for many years and have a number of friends who support them I hope they pick up. I think they will fair a bit better next season, Lambert was woeful and played dire football, at least Sherwood's team will give it more of a go. I think they will be between 12th-15th.

Also had some great awaydays at Villa Park, whitey scoring 4, Reid's first game in charge, Lomas' winner the season we went down under Ball, winning 3-1 when Distin scored and jumped onto me, Micah's 95th minute equaliser, amongst others.
Some very happy memories there. Have known a few Villa fans down the years who have been sound lads - I even sat on the Holte End with them when Whitey banged in four when we beat them 5-1 and when Lomas scored in 95/96 - that was a weird feeling. My mate got burgled the night before so let me have his Holte End ticket. Wanted to jump up and down and cheer when Lomas scored - couldn't amongst a load of Villa fans even though they knew I was City - and the emotion of that goal almost made me want to cry tears of joy! Weird feeling. What has struck me about Villa fans is their collective fickleness. 87/88 they went up and our young team of Lakey and co were mid table. Villa would get 10,000 home to Reading but 21,000 v the likes of us. One minute chanting "Tony Cascarino in the air" the next slagging him. I don't doubt like any club (ok, harder to find at Millwall and certain other clubs) they have sound people who support them, but collectively they blow hot and cold. Weak and pathetic at times.

Signed Gestede, it looks like Tim "defensive midfielders are useless" Sherwood is planning on going 4-4-2 with the plan to get the ball in the box constantly for either Adebayor, Gestede or the big ugly **** that makes Peter fucking Crouch look like a fucking midget.

Adebayor, on form, and Gestede will be a problem for CBs. Two very tall, strong and quick players.

Everybody's slating Adebayor, but he was good under Sherwood at Spurs. It'll be interesting to compare his goals to Benteke this season.

It looks like you can add Berbatov to Villa's strike force.

'BERBATOV HAS HAD VILLA TALKS'

Stiliyan Petrov has revealed that Aston Villa have held talks with Dimitar Berbatov over a summer move.

The striker has been linked with Villa after being released by Monaco at the end of last season.

Speaking to reporters in Bulgaria, Petrov, who joined Tim Sherwood’s coaching staff earlier this year, said: “There were talks but I can’t reveal you anything at the moment.

“It’s a nervy period for Berbatov, his agent and Villa and they’ll be the first to announce if there’s something.”

Gestede, Adebayor, Berbatov, Aghbonlhor( I know it's wrong!) and Kozak is a decent mid table set of strikers.

Fulham had Beebatov, Bryan Ruiz and Darren Bent the other year and it was a disaster - I can see the same happening at Villa

Ruiz is shite. Compare the Villa team now to the squad Fulham had 2 seasons ago and Villa win hands down.

Maybe Villa would win a game against a Fulham team from 2yrs ago but that's about all they could manage. My point was a general one about a set of strikers not necessarily being suited to a team's (soon to be) situation of a relegation battle

They will have problems with both Adebayor and Berbatov in their changing room.
