Aston Villa Thread - 2021/22

The new Steve Bruce?

Never quite good enough for the top jobs and becomes a mercenary manager who jumps ship for money.

I don't think his Rangers record is that impressive tbh. Not long after his arrival Celtic started to fall apart on and off the field and failing to win any of the 6 domestic Cups available in his three seasons is piss poor given the OF dominance of Scottish football.

glad he's gone now, soon see if he is a success in the PL.

Been to 2 games under Gerrard at Rangers. Both were truly awful and boring performances. The last being Vienna away in the Europa League.

Yes was great he won the league last season, but like many rangers fans I know (yes they follow chelsea to) they just couldn't warm up-to him with his Liverpool ties.

And you are correct, should of won the cup, but he fucked up big time.

Got into a twitter spat with a Villa fan today who came out with all the usual City bingo - small oil club blah blah - din't like it when I pointed out we've been better supported in 65 out of 74 seasons since the war - even did him a graph

...we're ahead of them on the all time average attendances as well.

Villa are perceived as a bigger club than City purely because of a league win followed by a EC win in the 80s. They're a club whose best years were behind them by the time Chamberlain was making a dick out himself with a piece of paper.
