He wouldn’t be going to prove he’s a good manager. We can all see he is.

He’d be going there as they’re both bigger clubs with more status.

But the discussion is academic as he doesn’t have any offers from them as far as I know.
I dont get this bigger clubs bigger status. Whats that got to do with it. What does that actually mean, Past glory dont mean a thing, it history you are taught that at school. Is it because both clubs have won things compared to us? We won the Charity Sheild beating Villa, prob our best achievement to date, but that means nothing. Its what is relevent now.

Villa have finished below us for the last 8 seasons.

He’d have more money to spend at Villa and that could appeal, if he thinks he could break top four with a club like that. Everton’s owner seems to have realised it’s money down the drain and has stopped investing, so on the same basis, I couldn’t really see that as appealing to Potter. Regardless of historical success or money, it would probably take at least two seasons to get anything like the players in he needs to play Potterball, so if he’s looking to improve/maintain his standing, I’d say the safest option is to stay where he is and wait for the inevitable top six sackings. I can see him ending up at Chelsea.

Well said. History is bollocks. The future matters the most. Preston North End used to be huge. Too many fans are fixated on the past.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

If we used the same logic, we’d be worried Pep would cross over to Trafford Rag Socks due to their status being bigger.

Hi Chalriegull, I like to see Potter stay at Brighton and take them further. However the thing about Everton and Villa is, if they make an approach he'd go. Thats the way things are unfortunately.

It would be piss funny if Villa came in for him and Potter politely told them to get bent.

Also the journey Brighton have been on over the years to where they are now has been remakable. I'd like to think my tenner all those years ago helped keet Brighton going (obviously along with all the others that donated money to the club to keep it going, did the same for Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Bury, alas Bury finally collapsed)

You’re currently above Liverpool, Chelsea and Utd.

He wouldn’t go to any of them because you’re above them “now” and history means nothing?
