Aston Villa Vs City Pre Match Discussion Thread

For me this is bigger/harder than the Chelski game. Against the big boys, players know they need to be on their metal. Just worried the boys might think they can just turn up for this and the points are in the bag. Its teams fighting for their lives that are the hardest to break down. They will defend for their lives for half an hour then we could get frustrated. If we score in the first 20 mins then it will be a cricket score. The rags could drop points this weekend with one eye on the ronaldo show next week.

Really concerned about this one.If we aint gonna win the Prem as seems highly likely, then we need to get as close to the scum as possible.
A point off a pretty dreadful Villa would have been acceptable had we won more of our "winnable" games. As it stands, nothing less than three points will suffice.I fear another ponderous start,I hope they score first, because then Mancini will have to take the shackles off and let the team play.
City win...eventually.

Can see another fine display from the boys here. Their defence is woeful, Nasty keep an eye on Bentecke, Zabba on wieman job done. Kun hatrick and ya ya on the score sheet, scum to drawer on sat.... here we go here we go...

Villa are desperate. Worst time to play them. Like when we went to Soton

Villa are a poor outfit and as seen against Bradford are even poorer at defending set plays, we really should be winning this one. An early goal and we'll stroll it. Famous last words but they also rarely keep clean sheets so we do our jobs properly and its three points.

Seems as good a place as any to talk about boozers before the game. The Square Peg (Wetherspoons) on Corporation St is a cracking boozer (we're there from half 2-ish), close to New St station too. For all you real ale drinkers the Wellington is great, again close to the station. Don't think the pubs around the ground are much cop to be fair. Cabs are fairly cheap from the centre to the ground or you can get a train from town to Witton which is a couple of mins walk from the ground itself.
Square peg it is then we will be getting the train in to Snow Hill from Stourbridge - should be there 5 ish

See you there pal!

You've hit the nail on the head there .....

because 'doing our jobs properly' just didn't happen in our last away game ....

but it's GOT to happen in this one !

I'm simply astonished at how negative some people are on here. "Villa need the points" doesn't mean they will get them!

It doesn't, but they will be much more motivated than usual
