Where in the Daily Star - Only story i could see is we've supposedly bid £30M (£15M + Ireland and Neddum) for Milner

Haha, leave the wankers to it. Whatever bollocks they choose to spout has no bearing on anything that happens at our club and if some pillocks want to believe what is written, whilst discounting the facts then there really is no helping them.

The daft thing is, when you read the article it's full of contradictions. On the one hand he's blaming, or rather partially blaming, England's poor performance in the World Cup on us signing the likes of Yaya Toure (funny but I could've sworn we didn't sign him until after England had been knocked out), yet on the other he's saying there's not much wrong with us having ambitious plans and that City fans won't care too much as long as we become successful over the next few years. However, there's no big deal with that whatsoever because if Woolnough bothered to look at fans of all clubs up and down the country then he'd realise the vast majority of us are more arsed about our club than the England football team. Everyone who I've spoken to, no matter who they support, always feels more gutted when their club side lose an important game than when England lose.

English players - you pay more for a sub-standard product, with very few exceptions.

Remember what happened to the British car industry? History is repeating itself.

It's not rocket science - if we want more English players in the Premier League the quality of players has to go up and their transfer fees down. Most of the league doesn't even have a decent academy. City's is one of the best, but I suspect it's still a tad below the standard of Barcelona's.

A starting point might be to hire the best youth coaches in the world and put at least one at every Premier League club.

I said this a couple of days ago.
Since the dominance of league football in England of Liverpool, Arsenal the rags and Chelsea, exactly what has the England national team achieved?
A World cup semi final in 1990 and a couple of quarter finals is the answer.
Don't forget that during that period, England has failed to qualify for three World cup finals (Germany, Argentina and the USA) and at least one European finals (Portugal) and the only time the Europeans has not been a total embarrassment was when the finals were played in England in 1996.

BTW bookiesgirl, where abouts in Northwich are you?

have had the same comments chucked at us that its Arsene Wengers fault for england not doing well , at the end of the day who gives a flying fuck what others think ? You are not doing anything any different from other clubs so why your singled out i have no idea , always thought woolnough was a merchant banker
