How many of our academy and reserve players are in the England under 19/21s? It would be useful to know because there seems to be an anti City player selection policy in the England camp.
Didn't take the one player who has shown great promise in the last few months of the season. Adam "our kid" Johnson, would have done wonders for the English team I reckon.

City have money and want success and have gone down the path of Chelsea, the rags and Liverpool in a procurement programme.
But let's look at some established, not so wealthy English Premier clubs.
Wigan, Sunderland, Fulham and Blackburn.
Their first choice elevens are hardly teaming with home nurtured academy players.
Bolton, for instance, have just signed a very injury prone, thirty odd year old, Bulgarian left winger.
Surely that's worse for the English game than us signing Silva.

Don't disagree with any of that. But a problem is that for (say) £25 million you will always get a better foreign player than an English one.

That's why there's so many foreigners in the Premier League. To say it's City's fault is absolute rubbish, especially given that we have a better academy than almost anyone else and many teams don't seem to do much at all in the academy department.

This club is in danger of becoming the scapegoat for everything and anything that goes wrong in English football. When, at worst, we are only copying what other successful teams have done.

I don't know what your ALL moaning about...

GET ON BOARD and BLAME City for everything....It's great, I've actually stopped receding and packed in the booze and fags since I started blaming City for all my mishaps. Best morning I've ever had!!!!!

All you have to do is mutter "I blame that man city myself" to live a wonderful long life that's carefree...What are you waiting for its fantastic!!!!

Hey up looks like a day of rain.......FUCKING CITY!!!! *tut

got up put the tv on within seconds that journo mcarthy was on and saying woolenough has said in the sun it is city,s fault that england are crap, for spending money on foriegn imports and agreeing with him, i just wondered how long it would take them to blame city, i havn,t read the column because i havn,t bought a newspaper for 5 years because i i know they are a lieing set of backstabing gutless shitehawks?

Of course it's our fault that England did badly .....

we did supply a player for the last three minutes of one game , and he spent most of that time on his arse after being persistently fouled ....

and then we supplied a half-fit chap called Gareth Barry who played for a game or two , and all he really managed to do was look sluggish , give the ball away , and basically create nothing ........

so of course it's our fault , and nothing whatsoever to do with the rest of the 'bigger named' England players , who , aside from a couple of desperate goals , did fuck all else either!

We had two players, one chosen for the England squad but not played in the World Cup and one not chosen in the England squad for the World Cup, both of whom a lot of fans (not just us but fans of England regardless of the club they support) who said that they both should have played in the World Cup.

Obviously I'm writing about Joe Hart who Sven once said is "one of the biggest talents in this country as a goalkeeper", and that he had the potential to become an England international in the future. Before us he had only been at his home town club of Shrewsbury, a current League Two team and to be fair the England squad is made up of players in the top leagues such as the Premiership. This year he had also won a place in the PFA Team of the Year.

The other is Adam Johnson, in a similar way he had only been at Middlesborough from his youth career but he had been loaned to Leeds and Watford, he only made a few appearances but his twelve for Watford resulted in five goals. Middlesborough are currently in The Championship and as I said before it is difficult for players below Premiership level to gain a place in the England squad, by joining City he has the platform to get noticed. And Johnson has got noticed this year for being a very clever and creative player.

So really it's not City's fault at all, we also have a lot more English players as noted but the fact that these two didn't make the squad is ridiculous and to say it's our fault England were crap is even more ridiculous, it's Capello's fault for not choosing to play players like Hart and Johnson so how dare anybody blame us.

City's fault... Wish they'd get over it and live up to the fact we are just shit, doesn't help England have a manager who didn't pick City's best English player either i suppose.
