Atletico (A) - Post-Match Thread

A seasons worth of shit in one game,
Foden getting smashed,
Foden getting shoved off the pitch
Foden getting volleyed at the end
Foden getting the treatment for getting volleyed.
Zinc having to hold back savic
Sterling getting butted
Grealish getting his 3rd hair pull
The sending off and it’s bollocks
Simeone unstable
The tunnel no 1
The tunnel no 2
Spitting throwing things at us,
Police involvement
Beer thrown at pep
Felipe not leaving pitchside
Etc etc

absolute shithousery and a fucking embarrassment.
Felipe putting his hands on the ref, after the red, thought that was a big no-no

i just checked the bbc web page to see how many bookings they got 3 yellows 1 red ??
Manchester city got 5 yellows ?? how did we end up with 5 yellows

the referee lost the plot in the 2nd half and what was the VAR officials watching in that crazy last 12 minutes
i think there is a case for 3 of there players to be red carded in that mess ?? head buts bunches spitting the whole lot

Apart from that mid-air body check on Foden by Felipe (that’s a Sin Bin in rugby league, so how he wasn’t booked I’ll never know), and the one he did get booked for on de Bruyne, I thought all the darks arts were done and won by us last night!

We got right under their skin.
His first foul on Foden was a red card offence. He deliberately lead with his forearm/elbow into his neck from behind with excessive force. The outcome could have been serious.

The one near the end when he smashed him then followed through with a kick to the calf was also violent conduct and should have also been a red.

And how Savic only escaped with a yellow is beyond me.

What pissed me off more though were the cheap yellows our lads got towards the end after the shithousery they'd had to put up with all game.

He looked like he went over on his left ankle I fear we could see the last of kyle this season he looked like it was a bad one, a bit shocked at first I thought he had winded himself, I think it's ligaments
I thought he was just wasting a bit of time at first because I saw the Atlético player didn’t touch him, but he rolled his left ankle under his body weight.

Those ones can either be a sore one with a bit of ice and rest are okay after a week, or months out.

After dust as settled the game was a an engrossing terrible shithouse of a game and if I watch it back now knowing the result I probably enjoy it more.

He still wanted to fight in the tunnel after though. :)

Rugby is a game for thugs played by gentlemen, football by that shower would appear to be a game for gentlemen played by thugs.

I the ref had at least booked Felipe (?) for going through the back of Phil then he may have had a modicum of control. In terms of not allowing little nudges to stop the game I thought it was reffed well but at what cost to us.

Proud of you Blue Boys.

Special shout out to the fans who went.
I think that’s a bit of an old fashioned way of thinking. Rugby league is played by absolute nutcases, but they still respect the refs (on the whole).

That ref had no plot to lose. I texted my mate “we’ve got Stevie Wonder tonight” at 8:09 before the Foden tackle and predicted a melee kicking off. He didn’t know how to manage that game.
