The difference with Phil on the pitch is that where he receives the ball for the goal, he is immediately turning forward and taking it on the front foot.
He’s engaged four defenders in their box and pick a pass through to the space.

First half, that ball was being first time passed back to where it came from.
We needed players receiving it in the box with the control and vision to turn towards goal.

He’s a two footed gift to City. I hope he keeps developing like this and Pep keeps his head screwed on. When he’s on his game he’s impossible to stop.
 
I am very happy with this result, I expected this to be a massive struggle, which it was in the first half. We miss Merlin against back five with his movement on the sides of the box and behind and I don't understand why Pep persists with Gundo in the middle when he can replicate Merlin's movements up front.
 
Was tonight the first time Pep has ever made 3 changes at the same time in a competitive Champions League game ?

Also got say when Pep is up for it like he was tonight he is like a 12th Man.The passion filters through to the players on the Pitch and Stands.

Hope we see a passionate Pep performance like that on Sunday and smash those entitled f***ers.
