Atletico (H) | CL QF 1st Leg | Post Match Thread

leaned over someone and told them what he thought
Same player was allowed to kick Grealish 4 times before getting same punishment
I know.
It won’t get a mention in the media, but that was disgraceful, I thought.
Jesus the same. Booked for dissent when he was basically complaining about them getting a free when it was actually another body check on Jack. They were knocking lumps out of Jack with impunity.

Frustrating game. Thought we were well under par, our passing was poor first half. Sterling and Mahrez cutting inside against the deepest defence I’ve ever seen was hopeless.

Much better when Foden and Grealish came on.

I thought Atléti were no better than a mid table Prem team. Thought they were awful (I also thought they were awful in both games against the Rags), but defensively very effective.

On a good night we’d put four past these shit twats though.
We were playing against a 10 man defence for 90 minutes. Its exhausting.Thought we were very professional and got the goal needed.

Bollocks the lad should not be our 4th choice.Name me a game when he`s let us down ? Too may people like yourself do not rate the lad because he came from a very unfashionable club !!!
I'd say Stones, Laporte & Dias start ahead of him in the biggest games if fit & available. Aké needs to keep turning in performances like his last couple & give Pep another selection headache.

He's been outstanding the last few matches, but so have the other CB's who've proved their consistency over a longer period. He was brilliant on Saturday at CB, & excellent today as a LB, but when Walker is back, Cancelo starts ahead of him at LB, & in the biggest games the other 3 CB's will start ahead of him.

Aké improving is better for Manchester City, & gives us better strength in depth & more rotation options going forward.

.
I reckon Pep did his 3 substitutions at the same time to save stoppages. Similar to pushing the ball boys/girls to get a new ball on quickly.
Good spot, Pep is a genius and worked this out, well done for calling it, would never have noticed.

Does anybody else think Correa should of been sent off for kicking the ball at Grealish or have I just got my blue tinted glasses on?
The whistle was well gone and Correa went out of his way to kick the ball at him, It was stupidity from hik to do what he done. Walker got a three game ban for a kick out, Yet that tonight warranted a yellow!

could’ve been killed

Even worse was the booking for Eddie just for leaning over him and telling him he was a twunt !!!

Good result, would have been great to get a second, but we are in decent position to progress . Not the most exciting of games but you are not going to get that with Atletico who are well organised and defend stubbornly. First half we moved the ball too slowly, but the introduction of Foden and Grealish made a big difference.

Atletico won't charge their style of play, but if we sit tight and wait for our moments we can score over there.
