Excuse my ignorance but do atletico usually play with a 5 3 2? Always feel that formation causes us more problems then any other

Playing Bernardo as a RCM made a bigger sense today, due to reason that I thought Stones would be a RB and during build-up we would need more technically gifted player, so that we could control the ball faster and better. But if it will be Cancelo as a RB and Ake as a LB, then there is the big chance that Bernardo will be as a false 9 :(

But Stones has proven himself as a RB and we haven't seen that much from Ake..
Also, playing Bernardo as a False9, when you have Foden or Jesus is a nonsense..

I still hope, we will see something like this. This is the perfect team considering Walker is out and Raz had a good game against Burnley...

It isn't the way I'd line up at the back but maybe playing Laporte and Ake there against Burnley was a sign that it might happen. I'd prefer to see Cancelo on the right, Stones and Laporte at CB and Ake at LB. Would help our build up play and make us more solid defensively I think. Who knows though?

anything can happen tonight but the one thing am 100% on the tie will not over until the 2nd leg
the away goal now gone should open the game up. i don't see why atletico want to come here keep it tight because city could really open them up if they just want to defend

yes if they score first then they will defend deep and do all the stuff european teams do and fall over and waste time
fake injuries the stuff of nightmares for me.

lets all hope pep has not had a brain freeze and over done it again ? just let the players open them right up and kill them off if we can. (well tonight's game)

It's going to be interesting to see how we actually line-up. If we can't be sure, then neither can Atletico!!

If we go traditional wingers, I would have Foden on the left and Sterling on the right but if we go with inverted wingers, then Grealish on the left and Mahrez on the left.

Slightly lopsided, but it may work…
