Atletico Madrid | Friendly (N) | Post Match Thread

why the fuck is pep playing macatee? it is clear he is not good enough. playing him over perrone who has shown great potential is abysmal.
Probably because he’ll see real first team action this season. He was great at Sheffield United and the reason they were promoted. Hope your comment ages well ;)

Was ok, until the mass changes. We're still light when we make wholesale changes as we've been for a few seasons, we work with a core of 16/17 players and these games show that more than anything.

We did however, show some good stuff over the 3 games.

The heat will be worth more minutes than playing in cooler less humid places.

Hopefully we'll be 'on it fully' for next weekend but, if not we've still got nearly another full week until Burnley where I'm convinced normal service will be resumed.
Yeah being light really hurt us last season

You won’t go far on here talking sense.

Didn't see the game, but that was shit. We need to be worried going into a new season with that 11. We were poor. Foden is that overrated he could be a Rag academy product. Dias has too many mistakes in him for a top notch centre back - you wouldn't see Martinez/van Dyke make those simple errors. Haaland needs to get more involved, he got away with it last season because of his goals but it won't cut it in his second season, he needs the same work rate as a Nunez or a Hojlund.

Arsenal will batter us next week. I won't be watching that game either but I'll make sure to put a decent post match report on here......
I had to read your post several times. You have to be on a wind up. If not then I’m seriously concerned for your mental well being.

Well, what they mean is that they give Pep a chance to try people out, and see things that he doesn't quite see in training, in games with zero risk in terms of consequences, but which can nevertheless be genuinely competitive, as today was.
I actually quite enjoyed today's game. It's better than checking Sky Sports Transfer Centre and the Gvardiol thread on here every five fucking minutes, anyway…
