Atmosphere 2024/25

Agreed. The first time I went there with City was 1974. It really was a bear pit in those days. The level of violence was also off the scale with routine stabbings and slashings from their thugs. The trains were always bricked at Edge Hill before they got to Lime Street. Modern day fans really have no idea how bad Anfield was. Much worse than United away for starters.
Have been to Anfield for 81semi and have never known a more violent nasty place. All Mancs blues and reds knew they were taking their lives in their hands going there from early 70s to late 90s. Stabbings and slashings were common the worse dippers had to fear in Manchester was a thumping and booting. However I was there in 1970 aged 13 with a 12 year old mate two huge dockers could see we were shitting ourselves in the Annie Rd. They let us stand in front of them by the wall and told us to cheer our team and they'd make sure nobody bothered us. Afterwards they walked back through Stanley Park with us and saw us back to the coach. This goes to show their are some really decent Liverpool fans and we were lucky enough to meet two. In this day and age people would question their motivation but they were just two really decent guys.

The anny road end had no segregation and blues got picked off if wearing colours or got the old ..."got the time la". That chant too...."we are the anny the anny road end". C....nts

You say they only got twatted and booted at Maine Road? Not sure that's all they got....but no comment

We really need to stop beating ourselves up about the Etihad atmosphere, Old Trafford is an absolute morgue today, big game against Spurs, Sunday primetime slot, and it's silent. (Sweeter that they're being played off the park as well ..)

The east stand is the old Kippax. We don’t want away fans in the lower tier so they would be shown on TV all match. If anything, they should be in a corner section of the 3rd tier of CB stand - so they can’t be seen or heard. All away fans are well hidden away at the swamp. We should take heed
Or at St James park.

I actually thought our away support was really decent yesterday, especially considering it was an early kick-off, don't know how it came across on the TV.

Newcastle fans were absolutely rubbish until they scored, then they had a bit of a sing song for 10 minutes at which point the silence resumed

Two things I noted watching the EFL show was that Elland Rd currently seems to have the best atmosphere in the country but loads of early leavers as lots of empty seats in Lowfields Rd stand near the end. Also always found Home Park Plymouth a soulless place but seems on fire at the moment. Like teams grounds have there good times and bad times ours is no worse than most.

Atmosphere from Newcastle fans yesterday was terrible until they scored.
Worse than the atmosphere we have for home games.

True that, very strange and over the whole 90 minutes I never heard more than a couple of chants and could not really identify where their singing section was.

Not digging the Newcastle fans as they have great fans but it’s a country wide problem, just highlighting it’s not unique to us or we suffer more than most.
