I noticed that too. We went from loud to quiet. The whole game was played out in near silence in TV after that initial burst of singing from City fans.

Every year the crowd would get a little older. Then came the new ground and that reinvigorated City for a while, and then we got a new injection of hope with the takeover. This is true. Manchester is much more diverse these days. For starters I have met lots of Chinese and Polish people who love City and live locally. City have always been well supported by new arrivals to Manchester going back in our history to the Industrial Revolution when the city was a melting pot.

Most people can tell the difference between a Mancunian of Asian Heritage, and someone who's from Asia on holiday, and wants to see a game. Unfortunately on UCL nights it's pretty much all the latter.

I'd argue that the Asian Community in Manchester have been one of the most let down by the club, as many members of this community would love to come and watch City, but simply can't afford the extortionate prices.
 
The good news is that Leicester at home on Wednesday April 2nd is completely sold out…..as per the club website. Nothing available for Members to buy, except hospitality.
Great result by the Club, despite charging over £50 a ticket, for a mid-week game against a relegation club, when we're not chasing the title.
I'm sure the odd season ticket will appear on the Exchange the week before, but these should be in relatively small numbers, dotted around various locations, and no doubt will be quickly snapped up, especially for a huge game, long since sold-out.
It's a pity, I might have brought my 2 kids along, if I could plan in advance and buy 3 seats together at a reasonable price with our Memberships, but fair play to our ticketing gurus at the Club, they've completely filled it, well in advance.
Who am I to criticise our ticketing policies, in the face of such a resounding success and deep understanding of the match going habits and price tolerance of the football supporter.
Looking forward to hearing about the special atmosphere that night, from those of you lucky enough to have the hottest tickets in town.

Wait till nearer the time pal, there will spares all over the shop for that. Will be the emptiest home league game of the season, by a mile.

I think the mysterious “second release” of tickets will be very large for this one!
 
The atmosphere at Spurs was shocking - worse I have seen away for a long time - despite almost being full (with a good number of tourists - as always). I tried to start a few songs where we were - and got a few going. But it just totally fell away (as did our performance) - so much so that Sav came over to encourage some noise. Spurs fans were almost totally silent - which given way there are - isn't a surprise.

Not sure what happens with all the coked-up kids on the concourse, the moment they are pitch-side, almost total silence?

Anyway always good to see Earling and Foden come over a the end for a long applause for the fans - and Pep too.

It's because they are together in a group in the concourse, but then are split up in their seats, even if you are a row behind or in front, it's just not the same as being together in a group like it would be on the kippax... the concourse is the closest this generation will ever get, who can blame them for falling flat when you go out into a sanitised seating arena, I know it kills it for me....if they could just stumble out on to a standing terrace like the old days would be so much better

Always makes me laugh that.

Concourse singing is the most pointless thing in football fan culture.
