Few seasons ago I knew a chap who felt he had been unfairly treated by the stewards. He wasn’t in a rush to get home and tried to spot the offending stewards leaving quite some time after the final whistle.
He was in luck and followed them away from the ground and was able to confront them away from prying eyes. Unsurprisingly, without 20 of their mates behind them and with no cctv cameras to deter him from forcibly getting his point of view across, these 2 chaps shied away from conflict and showed no signs of the authoritarianism on display inside the ground and were very keen to apologise and assure him that “it wasn’t personal mate, we’ll get sacked if we don’t do as we’re told”
Didn’t get a cross look from them on the few occasions he encountered them subsequently. Friendly nods all round. Pitiful.
