(Atmosphere) don't let them never say we don't have any

I sometimes think flags and the like are a bit artificial. But last night I felt it was the best part of the night, the club did a great job of boosting the atmosphere before kick off and with it being aired around the world, will only be a positive.

I just laugh at the southern cunts and dippers who give it 'the new Chelsea' jibes about the flags, it is definite jealousy. I've been to Anfield with a mate for a European night and witnessed the fabled atmosphere, it was fucking shite.

The same fuckers taking the piss will be the ones wearing City shirts in a few years when we win it.

The display was the best thing of the night imo. Atmosphere was great for the first ten minutes and then it was poor, it's down to the match and team performance .. Didnt give us much to shout about .. first shot on target on the 92nd minute

Talksport and all the medias love having a go at our atmosphere and generally talk-shite but we got to be realistic, it wasn't a good atmosphere for a large part of the match. I was in 115 last night and there were only 50 people singing constantly ...

i agree ended up in the north stand, large parts of the game with complete silence. apart from at the beginning. most of the people there weren't tourists either. it was alright, not comparable to games like hamburg or united. Hey Jude was amazing and i think if wed have scored the roof would have come off. btw the 1894 block was the loudest part of the ground from the north stand

Someone posted last night the youngsters of today don't sing enough and i agree. But if i paid the prices these lads/lasses pay for beer i wouldn't feel like singing much either. Why not bring in a 'pound a pint' for cup games?

The brilliant thing about last night was that most people were in their seats 10-15 minutes before KO and making a noise while waving the flags. It was an exceptional experience to be part of that, even for a CL-hating cynic like me.

I was very surprised how early people got to their seats last night. I expected chaos with people not sitting in their usual places but it was generally ok with the odd latecomer. Surprising to as the traffic looked terrible when I was walking from the station!

If i remember correctly it was City who started the current trend of flag reintroduction...im sure it was one of Gary Cooks things around the time we beat Arsenal in a cup tie. Don't know the date...SWP scored a belter near the end. There was a huge blue moon and the stadium was in blackout.

Anyone know why booze can't be served for CL games?

Also - Always struck me as bizarre that Heineken sponsor the thing. Would get their logic if they were the sole provider of piss but if they can't even sell it.....

Loved the fact that the place was full BEFORE the teams were out last night - those few minutes of Hey Jude before they came out were awesome

Yes, the bloke who was leisurely making his way down the middle of the stairs filming on his phone when everyone was waving the flags & I, who had been held up in traffic, wanted to get to my seat was not impressed when I very politely said excuse me & sort of pushed him out of the way!! But I wanted to get to my seat before the teams came out & also to experience at least some of the atmosphere & couldn't be doing with a flaming budding J.Arthur Rank thank you very much!! :-) Impatience, thy name is Eccles Blue!!

You should have called him a J. Arthur Ranker. (Or a word to that effect)
