Awhile ago the 1894 group and others tried to start a 'singing section'.
They were slagged off by most on here and probably elsewhere. People took the piss about 'Capo's and drums when all these lads wanted to do was support City in a loud and passionate way.

Last night I listened to a set of fans sing for 90 minutes, even when they were 3-0 down to the dippers they were singing. It must have been a brilliant atmosphere, it sounded good on the tele so live it must have been awesome. It drowned out the away fans which is very unusual in most grounds.

I am a tad too old to be a Capo or even a singer but I would love our fans to be that loud especially when we were losing and perhaps we should not be so quick to slag our own off when they suggest something similar.

Well done Palace, I am sure it helped the team come back in the match.

We been doing it for years mate, we can't afford to pay £50 million for a striker so all we can do is pay our £40 and sing our hearts out.

Exactly how many years?
Can't recall much atmosphere last time I was at Selhurst around late 80's and early 90's.
We had soul then you had fcuk all.
Should go more often, it's probably your local ground.
Not still upset about that banner are you?

I say ignore the whingers who don't want drums and bands and get on with it.
We need lads with loudspeakers starting and orchestrating the chanting in different parts of the ground miked up to synchronize the chanting.

We just need to get on with this not copying anyone just doing it our way. The ground needs to be bouncing every game. Palace have proved it can be done in England.
The songs and chanting last night were superb and did lift there team.

I'm all for this (skip to 23 seconds and keep watching):

But this VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV is just sad and pathetic, i'm glad i've never seen it at City.

Again we are going on about a drum, I am not arsed about a drum a marching band or even Phil Collins (RIP) leading the singing.
I just want our fans to sing for 90 minutes like the Palace fans did. I started the thread to support the 1894 lads, I don't want it to deteriorate into a drum slagging thread.

And again (to the Palace fans on here) well done lads, brilliant support for your team.

thing with us compared to them is we have songs, proper songs. they just drone a boring meaning less european shite noise and pretend its atmosphere. then sing a song all wank teams sing like blackpool.

No fantastic support mate. I really hope if the worse happens next year your fans do not desert you like on previous seasons.

This, fuck Palace & their "we got soul" bollocks. Cringey southern fuckers.

A lot of their singing is just monotone shite & doesn't reflect the game at all.

Look at that cockney **** a few posts up, insinuating City fans are glory hunters. I don't think he realises we have the highest percentage of season ticket holders who have been attending games for over 25 years, than any other club in the league.

I hope someone does confiscate any drum that shows up at City, that would be more embarrassing than silence. I much prefer atmosphere's that reflect the game & situation than highly orchestrated bollocks.

All we need is a little more organisation, nothing major, maybe the club advertising a block for 1894 group members in The South Stand as a singing block. We have lots of singers who are unfortunately spread out so songs tend to die on there arse from time to time.

We've got a hard core 15,000, obviously you get to the PL and you pick up 10,000 more.
Thing is the noise is generated by 500-1000 and picked up.
City can do this had good support in the Arthur this season and I remember you getting 30,000 in the 3rd.
Let the banner go ffs if it means you put one up next season when we visit then no bad thing eh?
Problem is to ignore the authorities who want you to sit down and shut up.
Sing and bounce no matter what don't slag off your own players and they'll play for the shirt

I know mate. Difficult to believe when he was throwing out comments about our fans being from London, how they cant afford a 50 million pound player (another dig regarding money) and they just sing their hearts out. Two years ago they averaged 15,000 at home and have gained 9,000 fans on the back of gaining promotion and being back in the premier league, a forty percent increase in their fanbase.
