thing with us compared to them is we have songs, proper songs. they just drone a boring meaning less european shite noise and pretend its atmosphere. then sing a song all wank teams sing like blackpool.

I hope someone does confiscate any drum that shows up at City, that would be more embarrassing than silence. I much prefer atmosphere's that reflect the game & situation than highly orchestrated
Yep that'll do it, reflect the game.
Go 0-3 down start booing your own players and leave 15 mins early.
I'll ignore the rest of post.
City got good hard core support but sounds like in 10 years you'll be like Manure. Be a shame

This, fuck Palace & their "we got soul" bollocks. Cringey southern fuckers.

A lot of their singing is just monotone shite & doesn't reflect the game at all.

Look at that cockney **** a few posts up, insinuating City fans are glory hunters. I don't think he realises we have the highest percentage of season ticket holders who have been attending games for over 25 years, than any other club in the league.

All we need is a little more organisation, nothing major, maybe the club advertising a block for 1894 group members in The South Stand as a singing block. We have lots of singers who are unfortunately spread out so songs tend to die on there arse from time to time.

At least they make some noise, this season it has dreadful at the etihad you can hear a pin drop at times, We need to get something sorted for next season as the singing section is bloody awful. So far the 1894 group have been pretty ineffectual, we need a lot more than a bit of tick a tape. The palace fans seem really organised and create a great atmosphere every game, I think the 1894 lot could learn a lot from them, drums, flags and liaising with the club to expand the singing section would be a start.

I think - though am not certain - that they have been aiming for those things but received little response/support from the club.

I know mate. Difficult to believe when he was throwing out comments about our fans being from London, how they cant afford a 50 million pound player (another dig regarding money) and they just sing their hearts out. Two years ago they averaged 15,000 at home and have gained 9,000 fans on the back of gaining promotion and being back in the premier league, a forty percent increase in their fanbase.

Exactly.

10 years ago we had 46,500 average having won sod all for 3 decades.

It's the same as when Blackpool, Barnsley, Blackburn turned up at City in numbers singing "where were you when you were shit?" having not had an away attendance that size for years, most only there for the big day out.

A block/end full of dedicated singers would create a good atmosphere! It was our chance do this when the stadium was getting expanded but the club are just gonna make it worse by spreading the away fans over the 3 tiers, what kind of bullshit is that?! Gotta give credit to the 1894 group though. If what I said before happens you'll be experiencing THE best atmospheres in England!

fair play to palace, they always sound loud. They are lucky, all the singers can stand together and they are not dotted around the all ground like us
but they lost my respect with that stupid soul / money banner , i think we should defo prepare a reply display next season

I know we need to improved it & I'm all for The 1894 Group to bring flags, inflatables & all stand in the same area to get things going, but that's as far as I'd go & I certainly don't want drums or a fucking capo.

To be honest, I know that the group exists but don't know a great deal about what they are trying to achieve, I realise they are trying to create a better atmosphere, but how are they hoping to do it?

They need to publicise what they are trying to do, if they get enough people on board the club would surely listen? After all it should benefit the club and team as well, the stadium expansion provides a clear opportunity to create a new popular area for fans to gather etc.

I am currently thinking of not going next season, because whilst the football is brilliant compared to 10-15 years ago, the match day experience is really sterile, trying to get songs started and singing on your own or being told to sit down is very frustrating at times!

We been doing it for years mate, we can't afford to pay £50 million for a striker so all we can do is pay our £40 and sing our hearts out.

Exactly how many years?
Can't recall much atmosphere last time I was at Selhurst around late 80's and early 90's.
We had soul then you had fcuk all.
Should go more often, it's probably your local ground.
Not still upset about that banner are you?
Wrong forum.and yes, banners really upset me!!! Keep on singing mate.....your doing a great job.

MCFC - Tunnel End

My ten pence worth.

When we build the new North stand, we build a Wembley size tunnel at the back of City Square that connects right through from the live stage in City Square all the way through to the front of the stand . The stage and bar areas in City Square are configured to allow direct access into the ground for the blue faithful located in the new 'Tunnel End'. Prior to kick-off the fans can have their fun in City Square (which should also be glazed/roofed over IMHO) and they can then march down the tunnel and start the singing. If you want noise - you go in the Tunnel End which then becomes our 'end' and the place to hang out before and after the game.

We put the day-trippers and non-season ticket holders in the south stand to stop the split in our own support that occurs presently.

Why do I think this would work? Well for one, the Tunnel End at the old Wembley was the 'end' to be in. Secondly, Maine Road was modelled on Wembley and used to have similar tunnels and I can still recall now, as a nipper, sitting on the wall of the main tunnel in the Kippax Stand watching a league cup game against United: great atmosphere, and if I was lucky I'd always try and get to the tunnel if I could (otherwise I couldn't see!)

I think that in order to generate atmosphere you have to do something different that people catch on to: the Posnan is one, the Liverpool Kop is another. I think we need an 'end' to call our own: so hence I can see light at the end of the City tunnel!

Apols its a bit of a wacky posting but heck it's been one of them days
