Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

We are all Manchester City fans/supporters, but let's look at the bigger picture

This issue with the stadium and the atmosphere has been caused by one group only: the club and the nameless execs involved, who no one can speak to or contact, no matter how hard you try

You need to look at the optics that this part of the club has caused the club over the last couple of years, with so many negative headlines

It's the club that set up this area in the first place; it's the club's fault that we don't have a home end

The set-up of the stadium for atmosphere does not work; this has been proven on so many occasions. The ticketing issues do not help the atmosphere either

The 1894 group with the post above have spoken out against ticket prices, and though fans have been moved from their seats, and fight against ticket resellers, these actions are like those of a trade union within a workplace

The reason people are taking issue with the 1894 is that you refer to yourself as an "atmosphere group", which is why other fans/supporters are annoyed with the South Stand stance. This is because the other fans are aware that this area in the South Stand does not work. After all, it is next to the away fans.

If the 1894 wants to stay in the lower south stand, then that's up to them. They have advised it's better to have 2 areas rather than 1

But if other fans want to set up We Are The North Stand or the 9320 as an atmospheric group for the atmospheric home end in the North Stand, they should be able to do so, like what the Homesdale Fanctics have done

But this needs to be allowed to happen
How is it not being ‘allowed’?

While Tim Vickery makes a good point about PL atmospheres in general, I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the atmosphere coming from the away end yesterday. Exeter fans had great numbers but there wasn’t great noise from them once we’d gone 1-0 up. I say that as someone who has had a soft spot for Exeter since 1989 when a Darren Rowbotham-inspired Grecians almost pulled off a big shock against Sunderland in a League Cup quarter-final. A soft spot that was reinforced nearly a decade later when around 20-30 of us blues went to see Rochdale v Exeter at Spotland and went in the away end with the Exeter fans. There were only around 100 or so of them but they sang their hearts out, and despite losing 3-0 they were all there at the end to clap their team off.

It just doesn't travel unfortunately, it might be loud in and around those 2 specific areas but unless it's a big match and the rest of the ground are also joining in, you can't hear that much, I used to be in SS Level 1 and used to go home deaf, i'm in CB Level 3 now as prefer the view and honestly the noise doesn't get to us on the halfway line.
I doubt he’ll disagree about the lack of travel but that wasn’t his point

There are plenty of other platforms and avenues outside BM to start a new fan group if that’s your aim. Social media, pre-match in the pubs, supporters club branches etc
I’d also say that Bluemoon generally is a place for words and not action.

We get tons of posters on here telling us how to suck eggs that have never joined a singing section or done anything proactive themselves. They sit from the comfort of their seat on the half way line with their flask and hot blanket and tell all of us in SSL1 what we’re doing wrong.

See that @uwe rosler 28? And there’s you saying there’s no noise coming out of the South Stand and Kippax Corner.

By the way, where do you sit in the stadium?
On a regular basis is the point I can probably find a handful of videos showing the colin bell level 3 making noise but the exception doesn't prove the rule. The fact you needed to find a video 3 years old to evidence noise from that section tells a story in its self.Currently sit in east stand L3 but have had season tickets all around the ground.

You said there was no noise whatsoever coming out of those areas. That’s complete and utter bollocks and you know it.

It's not bollocks or else why would we have multiple threads blaming, away fans location, acoustics even fucking style of football being played for the silence in the stadium. It been crap for years and is only getting worse .

Of course it’s fucking bollocks. Regardless of how shite the atmosphere is, there’s still noise coming from those areas so wind your fucking neck in

Nah your alright i will continue to give my opinion on a topic where most people know you are talking bollocks, have a go at reading the thread and see what theme comes out. Is it that the current singing sections are loud and proud and can be heard all over the ground due to their vociferous support?, or is it that most games the atmosphere is classed as the worse most people can ever remember and something needs to change? Let me know if you need any help working out the answer.

You could argue the atmosphere in the stadium is crap, I wouldn’t agree, but the areas of the ground your referencing, along with SSL3, are the areas that actually create noise and atmosphere. You can argue again, it could be better, but to say they don’t make noise is just being controversial for attention.

Yes. If people want to piss this opportunity away as a protest to the club, but continue to purchase tickets, it makes no sense to me.
People would not be moving as a “protest to the club”

People would not be moving because the plans are so underwhelming and are about revenue over atmosphere at all times and see absolutely no reason to move ends based on what they have seen and heard so far.

See the post by @franksinatra below yours. It explains it in terms that are easy enough for even you to understand

Spot on mate. You explained it far more politely than I did!

Hi bud if you care so much about the atmosphere which I don’t doubt you do, why do you sit in east level 3 ? There’s been the option to move to
Louder areas for years, you will be surrounded by the viagogo lot. If we’d have had people like you getting involved years earlier there would be less room for the people who just sit there and look at their phones all day instead of singing
